wherever they are i hope for more weekend activities

Exhibitors show up real early in the week to set up and then want to leave Saturday or earlier because they might have a commitment on Monday.   Makes it tough for the average Joe that works all week and can only go on a Saturday.  Been happening for years.

Were several Southern states and held in Georgia, also going to bid for 2029 at this years roundup? I was hoping they would get the vote.

i know me my fam and couple friends would have gone a time or two more if taking off work wasn’t required,   pretty much burned through vacation days to get crops in and spring chores caught up then when something cool like this comes up where we would be free for a break it just would be nice to have a relaxing saturday to do it on.  but i’m not driving a semi of tractors across 3 states either so i understand that point too.

Bill, I believe they withdrew from the running.

Gene and I have made the last 4 in a row. The next few years are looking rather bleak. They can't all be close to home you know.

Is it Centerville or Centreville?

Centreville I think is how it is spelled. South central MI close to the IND border.

The southern group of chapters had difficulty in getting a contract with the venue approved by the club’s insurance attorney. From what I understand 32 barely got theirs approved. They have hosted two RPRU at the same location before. The contract should have been a slam dunk. Just update the dates one would think.

This is all second hand information so don’t quote me here.

It's Centreville.  Basically out in the middle of BFE.

Yep

Totally 100% ridiculous.  Why come tue for a weekend show to leave early?  Its like grandma in church 45 min before anyone shows up.

Then the general pop whom we need to see and enjoy the hobby get shortchanged on a Sat with people leaving.  Local Fair is huge fine for even packing up.  Fair ends at 10pm Sat night.  Period.  And everyone makes it fine to their next event.

I really wanted to go this year since it's only a little over 4 hours from home. But we couldn't have left until this morning and from what I've been told we would have missed out on a lot of the show by getting there close to noon on Saturday. Maybe Thief River Falls will be doable. About 5 hours from home. Maybe we won't have some of our obligations by then.

While Centreville itself isn't large there's a ton of things around there and places to stay.

I made it down Thursday around 2 o’clock. There is a lot of neat stuff there. The only other one I made it to was Huron in 2014. I hurriedly walked through exhibits as I had my 12 year old son with. But I did stop at a few booths. 88 series restore has a nice parts inventory and very pleasant. As was Charlie with the splitting stands and parts he sells. Bought a IH backpack from the Carolina group they were very hospitable and the 4 wd sand pickup was great. Then I looked over emblem guys and the paper farmer booth. I will make it over to Thief river in a couple years if everything lines up.

I have to give a shout out to you guys with the SD chapter it was well organized and well ran event. Be very proud of yourselves. A lot of nice restored tractors and a lot of well cared for models that still work in the lineup.
like I said the tractors were well organized. , my favorite tractor actually just because it looked cool was the 786 with big tires and turbo I believe sitting in the building by the early well restored 1915 tractors.

I was almost out of vacation days also as I took one for Thursday and Friday was a scheduled day off. But I figured what the **** work will be there tomorrow and if not I will move on to something else.

I tell the people who complain about people pulling out saturday that maybe they should take vacation days from their job and go to the show on thursday or friday like those spending money to haul stuff to the show so they have items there........

It's kinda hot in Georgia for alot of y'all.

How about having winter shows in the south. The gulf coast and south Texas is nice in winter.

Yes! Winter show in the south would be great. Usually can not make RPRU because we are in the field

I like that idea but no one from the north would bring anything if the roads were salt/snow/ice covered.

I get that.  Last one that was close to me was in 2022 and that was still 4-5 hours away.
