Got a set of matched duals in for the 1256 to plow on land this fall. Hung a quick hitch in preparation. Dealership decals from where it sold new added.

Went the blueberry farm to meet hs friend. notice the tarps had come out the Farmall C and the Super c . In order to sort out the tarp tangles . I had to crawl around in and under the tarps. Noticed a what I thought was a new eye floater. It was really an ant 🐜 on my hat brim . Backed out ,I had ants all over me . Spent some time dancing around . Trying to get them off of me. No picture of the event . Here are a few of the blueberries,garden ,buckwheat .and free lance grape vine. We have bee hives though out the farm . They ran the tranplanter over the broadcast buckwheat to plants the garden. Don’t have to cultivate or mow it.

Went on the tractor drive and go the prize for best overall tractor! I was shocked but the ole triple 6 does look pretty nice.

Rollin, rollin, rollin… Some big oat hay windrows. About all the 256 wanted in some places. The hydro rake manages better.

My guess is the landowner who wants it cleaned up. Unless a senator gets involved, I bet no money, or very little, will be recouped. I wonder how many holding companies you have to sort through to even find the one who is technically responsible?

We haven’t had a bad storm since they built all these towers near me. I always thought the next time one comes through that those blades are going to end up in someone’s living room.

When my buddy got married we found our way in their house and froze all her underwear into a 1' cube of solid ice. The night before I got back from my honeymoon my friends had a party at my house. Burned every stick of firewood I had. I had a little ford focus with a ton of miles on it that I drove to work in and I never found it until a day after I got home. They picked it up with the loader tractor and move it behind the barns 😂 I know it's a little off topic but that's what this made me think of.

A lot of this stuff sounds like stuff we did to newly married friends back in the day there is a name for it but I can't remember it. We got into their house when they were on their honeymoon.

I'd take all the fancy excercise equipment. If it's like many homes, it would be weeks before they noticed.

I'd leave the remotes, but take the batteries. Swipe the charger blocks but leave the cords, also open all the mini-blinds then steal the wand that opens and closes them... I wouldn't steal the toilet paper, but I'd darn sure swipe the toothpaste! Oh, one last thing... I'm snagging all the forks on the way out the door!

The boss lady just said coffee filters. That would be brutal for me! Toilet paper would be another inconvenience one. 😵‍💫

It’s all for ease on the assembly line and profit. The manufacturers and engineers couldn’t care less if the dealers make more money off it or not and how much someone at home struggles.

For a few tractor pulls a year, I wouldn’t worry about a dually. I pulled around a 12,000 lb tractor and duals on a gooseneck with my 4 door single wheel for 4-5 years with no issues, yes a dually would have gave more stability, but for everyday use, I wouldn’t want a 4 door dually

Believe it or not, crop damage appears to be minimal. You can see the corn in some of the pictures; I was very surprised it appears to be straight with no "goosenecking". Some of the soybean fields show some stripped leaves from the wind damage, but all-in-all the crops look good. Measuring wind is a lot like measuring snow, there can be a lot of variability in just a short amount of distance. Some ranchers are wondering about all the potential fiberglass debris out in those hay fields....that stuff doesn't break down and I'm sure you don't want that stuff in your cattle feed. FWIW, there's another wind farm of 27 turbines just a few miles east of this site. Those turbines didn't receive any damage from the wind storm and are all still running.

Not to be insensitive but there can be variability between the spot where a weather reading is taken and where storm damage occurs. As far as the NWS goes most readings besides an airport or other official site are considered not official. Also, I doubt wind towers are stressed tested to see if they can with stand 150 MPH wind bursts. More like an engineer used formulas to set design parameters which in theory can stand up to certain conditions.

I got one of the old 4wds stuck on a 24 row planter this spring. We had another MFWD tractor there and tried to pull it with that. We broke a few chains, but never moved it. I called a local, to where I was at, wrecker place. They brought out a Kubota skid steer with a winch on it. I thought there was no way that would pull it, but the guy guaranteed me it would. He buried the blade in the ground, chained to our MFWD tractor for an anchor and it pulled that 4wd and 60’ planter right out. It cost me $875 though

If y'all are really looking for a rust free truck I have one I would sell. 78 F300. 2wd. 78,000 miles showing. 400? automatic. Dual rear wheels. Flatbed. Regular cab. Minor fender bender LF. Parked because it had a flat and it got terrible gas mileage several years ago. Driven to where it is parked. Didn’t get on a red tractor today but dropped 30 acres of oats with New Holland red. We’ve had some uncharacteristic shots of rain so I wasn’t able to cut when I wanted to but dry hay in the bale is better than wet, green hay. Most will get round baled for cows anyways. Sprayed for mares tail in my orchard grass. Just used the truck to pull the sprayer. Picked up another load of organic fertilizer from the local slaughter house. Some is dry enough to go through the fert-I-blower. Some will have to be dumped, spread out and plowed into the oat stubble this fall. The price was right though.

In 2008 I bought a truck outside of Atlanta GA, about a 9 hour drive. It was a 98 Ram 3500 with the 12v Cummins and right at 100K miles. It was a small, long established dealer run by a father and son. I found it through the autotrader site. I rented a car for $99 unlimited miles with the idea of turning it in down there if I did buy the truck. My wife went with me and we figured it would at worst just be a nice weekend trip. Truck was actually nicer than the pictures and his description. Drove it home and still have it. They took my personal check and put a 30 day plate on it. Buy a one way plane ticket and go shopping. You will be motivated to buy if you want to get home? PS: Take a cheap OBD2 tester with you. Look at the VIN on the OBD2, which is coming off the computer. Compare that to the dash, B pillar and VIN on the title? If they don't match, run like heck because it is stolen.

Have 4 ropes but been a few years since i used any of them. They stretch 30 to 40%, have had them since the early 80s. 1 inch, 1.5 inch, 2 inch, & a 3 inch. Before them i had the flat straps, tried different brands but ripped the stitching out of the eyes on the ends. Had 2,4,6, & 8 inch. They were covered under warranty but kind of unhandy having to knott them on to the clevice to finish the job so went to ropes & never have had any issues. The eye is made by weaving the strands back into itself so the harder you pull the tighter it gets. The 1 inch for pickups, the 3 inch for anything on tracks or tires. Those ratings are for the tow unit, not the mired unit. If the 3 inch is used when pulling with a pickup the result is similar to a chain, the truck is not heavy enough to stretch the rope so no bennefit from the recoil. Very important to use a screwpin clevice with ample capacity. Any iron can become deadly, a broken rope is pretty minor compared to a 1066 drawbar on the end of a slingshot. They will break if a 3588 is used on a 1 inch for example. Have always used them at around 8 MPH & if a couple trys dont succeed go up a gear. Neither operator feels any jerking or a jolt. My 3 inch has been loaned to be used on cats, 450 HP articulates, concrete trucks as the tow vehicle. Mired were combines, semis, concrete trucks, excavators, & etc. The recoil is where the pull comes from. The secret is to use the correct rope.

Coulda ,shouda had OVER $1M (on paper)with the 3 yr run in physical silver,($12-110) Fees hurdles loop holes costs handling shipping 2x ,storage yada yada.... 65-85% poof to others for doing ABSOLUTELY nada $0 then deduct tax issues. While the base $150K was at absolute risk. $270K if govt (coin) plus in hand "generics" have additional risk of generic devalue (ONLY when YOU sell)

I never got rid of the GMC, was going to but Mom wanted it to tow the camper, so it kinda just hung around.

We have a local community chat group on WhatsApp, so i dont personally know the couple - but a local farmer lad is getting married this weekend and how adorable is this? Absolutely love it, albeit the tractors would look better if they were red, but to each their own as they say - we wont judge. They've also got a giant bride and groom made up out of hay bales in the field near the road, I'll try and get a picture of that in a little while when I go by. Bit of wedding inspo for anyone who might be needing it! Personally I might just use the idea for my 40th birthday party in 5 years time 🤣

Clutch could have failed. It may not be stuck at all. Since all your best efforts have not broken the clutch loose, the next logical step would be to split the tractor and find out what's really going on. You may find one or more broken pressure plate fingers, or a lining that has broken loose from the disc and wedged itself causing the problem. I had a similar issue with my Super H. Not even really sure what the problem was. Clutch wouldn't release. Tried all the usual tricks, no dice. Had to pull the clutch and ended up replacing with new. Didn't really see anything wrong, but it would not release.

I've never been so excited to paint something I'll never look at...the back side of the grille. 460 Utility LP gets new back tires installed tomorrow. Things are starting to happen around here. The previous owner of my 650 has me working on his M. Its a '47. Steering needed some help. Needs a universal joint and a new bearing on the worm gear shaft. Looking at getting my 650 grille emblem re-chromed. Not sure yet.

Hauled 16 loads of dirt and then a bath.
