A very dear wise old man said to me yesterday "Well girl, if we dont fight for what we want, we can't cry for what we lose" and it has replayed in my mind a lot today, so figured I'd share that one with you guys.

Two 20.8 X 38 Firestone 23 degree radials plus tubes. Altogether with old tire disposal fee and service call was 4387.00 dollars. While I was waiting on the money I debated whether I wanted to spend on new Firestone radials but in the end the other options might have been only several hundred dollars cheaper. The tractor always rode nice with the radials and even though it is not a primary tillage tractor it gets called upon to do tillage. I'll probably do some light disking with it here in a few days. Just wish that I had more money to spend on tires as the tires in my fleet are getting some age on them. The 986 was not going to be the first up to bat but a bad sidewall on the old tire said otherwise.

Got a seat suspension kit from K&M and new seat cushions installed. It had an aftermarket seat on it and not the best one. I don’t know how the guy I bought it from could drive the thing as far forward as it was. It’s comfortable now!

I could comment about the local "news" segment I saw last night and its "truthfullness" but that most likely would get this thread locked.

These companies roll in and make every local "official" sign an NDA, which means everyone is really super smart about how this will all work but they can't talk about the details. They always promise a giant windfall to the local community yet they seek Tax Increment Financing schemes to make it all possible and for that they declare productive farmland as "blighted" to justify the TIF. I don't know what you guys know about TIF but it's like most Ponzi schemes where the cost is socialized and the profits are private. There's a "meta" facility not far away from these locales that has been in operation a few years. Local police, fire, and EMS personnel are not allowed access to the premises. Couple months ago, one of the scant few who work there had a medical emergency so the others hauled them to the front gate to be transported by EMS. There's a big stampede for something not completely explained and extremely expensive. Reminds me of MRNA and remdesivir.

Idk.... area ibdo biz in has had Data centers for 20 years near. No issues. Never have i heard a local say a peep anyways of issues. You guys all see the report where it was found most anti data center groups were actually fake and funded/based in china? Like why dont they want us to have em? If what your calling the main pump is the one in rear housing below the brake housing, that is the pump for hitch and remotes. Has nothing to do with power steering, brakes,ta and lube pressure. That pump and mcv pump and PTO, are driven off the IPTO shaft. Like several of us have mentioned, look in at bottom of clutch housing, sounds like splines are stripped in pressure plate and IPTO shaft. Sounds like you have the side plate off range transmission and are looking at gears on countershaft. That has nothing to do with the IPTO shaft that is inside the countershaft. IPTO shaft turns the pumps. It is turned by the splines in Pressure plate.

Everyone is all cranked up about solar farms, will the company be around when it comes time to decommission them? Imagine what the data centers are going to be like!? Years ago my father and grandfather did work for the local phone utility, every served town had a building full of switch gear, backup heating, backup cooling, the noise was deafening. Now the same company has mostly empty buildings, some serving no purpose at all with 1 or2 little racks and a bunch of modular switches. When the data centers get moved to a satellite something or other somewhere.. what happens to them then?

Which includes my area of the Finger Lakes region experienced over 39,000 lightning strikes. The storm covered parts of Ontario, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. From 6:30 until after 10:00 it seemed like a non-stop light show. High straight line wind and hail also occurred. Have not been far from the house this morning to see what damage has happened.

I can’t answer that. I know that UPS, FedEx, and others WERE big into CNG, out in that area, but as @jass1660 said UPS isn’t using them, once the truck is worn out.

It’s a local office that helps retirees and older people navigate the US government assistance programs. Mainly Social security benefits and Medicare. Medicare is an age specific healthcare generally funded through payroll taxes and premiums. The UK’s UHS ( National Health Service) as I’m sure you know is funded through government taxes. Unlike UHS, Medicare has deductibles and co-pays.

IMHO it's a crap shoot. There's enough manufacturing variations in the spindles and just a fraction of a degree can mean the difference between rubbing and racing... 10" rims with the proper offset is about the only guaranteed way.

I drill and put a grease fitting on all that I get in the shop fitting goes in the cap -- need to tilt the cap to drill in the drill press want the fitting near (1/3 of the way) to the rear of the cap -- closed end -- I use a 45 degree drill center guide that I made years ago -- just a pieces of angle iron welded on a plate to make a "V" I use chrome-nickel rod to weld the hole up where it it worn -- middle is usually not too bad -- just the outsides of the hole -- die grinder and carbide burr -- just do good work and get the hole "round" I use a pin or socket as a test fitting to figure where to grind the high spots -- but use whatever you have handy -- would be best to measure the new ball shank and make a pin that is a little under size -- need the ball to fit tight in that wishbone

1.5 inches here last evening at 630. Really dumped buckets for half hour. Two miles west didn't get a drop. Go south and east and their burnt up. Here were having a good corn silage season.

No they’re not real practical. Low power and high maintenance costs. We have around 4,000 of them at larger hubs, my hub is all diesels.

Straight hole - splines on the ball shank help to grip the metal I have welded the hole and used a carbide cutter on a die grinder to get it back in shape You need to drive the ball into the wishbone with a sledge Also have just welded the ball in place -- but not my favorite "fix" to the problem Drill that cap for a grease fitting -- and use it

Startup Draw (First 4–5 minutes): ~2.5 Amps (300 Watts at 120V). "Our pellet grills draw about 2.5 amps during startup as the grill heats up..." -- [Traeger Support via Home Depot]. The extra power is required because the electric hot rod is glowing red hot to ignite the wood pellets.Running Draw (Normal operation): 0.4 to 0.8 Amps (roughly 50 Watts at 120V). Once the fire is lit, the hot rod shuts off. The grill only uses minimal power to occasionally spin the auger and run the draft induction fan.

I've been on the look out for good used tires in that size for a few years now but impossible to find. Firestone SAT's in that size were only a couple of hundred dollars per tire cheaper. BKT's not even 200 dollars less per tire than the SAT's. Rock bottom for Mitas or whatever was around 1500 dollars per tire. Firestone currently has a 100 dollar rebate per tire which helped make the decision. I'm the second owner on the 986 and it has 5080 hours on it and the tractor is quite solid. Excellent TA. Worst part is it has lived most of its life outside.

If the price of diesel keeps going up you'll need to leave the gas burner in it... I'd like to have a 706 or 806 on LPG for times like this... LPG is $1.80 delivered to the farm. Might be able to find it cheaper if I shopped around!

As I understand it, they feel if we don't build them, they will. Then they will have an advantage over us. Maybe true but it's easy to get caught up in that trap. Kinda like nuclear weapons during the cold war. We ended up building way more than we needed just to keep up with the arms race. The space race to get to the moon first. So is it a Data Race???

We got LP for 1.59. Filled the tank and then got our contract for 1.80. I’m looking for a 1000 gallon tank to get us through winter on one fill hopefully. I haven’t bought any bulk diesel yet. The little bit I have been using is coming from the station until prices go down.

Found the leak under the seat. Apparently I cross threaded the accumulator on the fitting. So, no accumulator until I can fix this one or get a different one. At least it's back in the game! Took it for a drive yesterday, man, it drives nice.

Sure its great to make the money but you cant take it with you when you go - my dad worked away a lot when we were young, he and my mum are comfortable, mortgage free and remind me often that I wont get "left with nothing" ... but if I was being honest, I'd rather have memories of him being around and home more, happy with time for us.. not stressed and consumed by work constantly, even when he wasnt working - than anything I am set to gain from his passing. Anyways. Just something to remember.
