I need to get pictures, but I might have the most IH balanced head mowers here. Bought a REALLY nice one yesterday for $300. It is 3 point, 9 foot bar with 2 spare sickles!!
Bought its twin last fall, but it has been sitting in the dirt for sometime. I will rob the 3 point drawbar off of it, as well as the 9 foot cutter bar, and put them on my other useable mower for now.
All together I have $900 into the 3 of them.

They are great mowers.

I had a pair of 9 footers on a Rowse hitch pulled with a 656 hydro

Thought I was in heaven until the bank brought me back down to earth

Jokes on them

I've outlived all my bankers and still ranching😉

3 for $900??!! Around here you'll be lucky to get one semi- functional balanced head mower for that. More if in good condition or 3pt. You lucky dog.

No disrespect intended.

I’m not sure that these are true 3 point mowers. They still have tail wheels, but have a 3 point bar in place of the u drawbar mount.
Since all I have for tractors are older Case stuff with either Eagle hitches or true 3 point, these mowers are GREAT!!

None taken. The first one I drug out of my father in law’s junk pile. I did put new double guards on it and there’s a new 7 foot sickle for it that I bought.
The second one came off of Big Iron and they didn’t represent it as well as I thought they should. Paid WAY TOO MUCH for what it is, but it does have a good 3 point cross bar on it and a good looking 9 foot bar with good ledger plates. I’m going to put the bar on my original mower and make it 9 foot.
The last one, a young man had it advertised on Facebook Marketplace for $600. I offered him 2, he countered with $300! I didn’t have the cash and had already put 900 miles on pickups over the weekend and really didn’t want to go anywhere. I told him I would give him the $300, the following weekend if he still had it. He did and I did. Got a brand new sickle, still in a IH labeled wood protector, and 2 used sickles with it for $300, oh and it has an original IH single action hydraulic cylinder on it too. I almost felt guilty but I gave him a week to think about it.

I just got another one again as I had gotten rid of the ones I had before. This looks like it should work. Missing the belt guards , fast hitch mounted small prong

My brother inherited this one when he bought his place. I remember the two brothers that were the previous owners had it on a w6 for the entire summer cutting hay. Not sure what model it is.

Not sure, but not a balanced head. Looks like it has a homemade power-beyond for a crimper or something...

I had one years ago, a 1300 7' I think. Didn't have it long (this was before I discovered RP) as it kept breaking knife heads no matter what I did to try and stop it. Never could figure it out, so I sold it and took the money and bought another Ford 501 pitman mower... definitely a step backwards, but I got along with it pretty good and it didn't break knife heads left and right. Wish I'd know about RP back then, y'all probably could've helped me get it fixed and I'd still have it! Having said that, if I could find a trailing or drawbar mounted one I would probably buy it, but they aren't common in my neck of the woods.

No worries.

My 504 isn't running at the moment anyway. I think there a fuel problem but haven't gotten around to working on it...

I’ll have to check it out sometime when I’m over there and get more details. After the 6’ of snow that it is under melts of course.

I have a 100 fast hitch and a 110 mid mount.  Neither really gets used other than maybe cutting a few roadsides. It would be fun to have a 300 to put the mid mount on, live power and a torque would be handy compared to the H.

I bid a fast hitch 1200 balanced head up to $725. a couple weeks ago.  It was clean, even had the shield over the belt.

I always thought a mid mount would be handy to use. Maybe not so handy to put on tho?
