We were there today, big crowd and about a billion UTV'S. We took our Polaris and was glad we did. There is no way to walk around all the show and field demo's. It is hard to describe how big this place is and spread out. If you have never been and like seeing older equipment to show or in the field try to make a point to go, it was a great day!!

Some pics from today had a nice conversation with Mr M&W and his friends that were there helping him. Got to see earth quake out in the field

That’s going to farm progress next week. I feel they missed an opportunity for a double feature!

Probably reenacted exactly what happened about 69 seconds after the camera shot was taken for that old advertisement!

There is video out on other sights of it burning. A big flame on ground under it. Either transmission overheated and blew a bunch of oil out or something leaked and started burning. Apparently it was the owner videoing it. A couple of old guys were wandering around while it was burning unhooking plow and looking in tool box.

I saw quite a few plows from what I saw that were not set up right I’m sure it was hard to with all the different depth’s that were being plowed  I watched that cat dozer with the disc plow and wondered why they ever made such a thing I think the next guy through may have plowed right over his pass.

They just finished up harvest a few days ago.  I’m speculating they wanted to be at the shows tractor goes to. If you wanted pics I could have taken some of it sitting in their yard

I have pulled one of those just enough to say I did it, had the same thoughts. But for different reasons. I don't just know when there day was but a lot of them around here in the old days. But I don't know of any used much since the 60's when I was aware.

But that was a favored tool in the Northern Plain of USA into Canada. They were not trying to till deep like a plow. Just kill the weeds off for fallow, and add a seed box and plant the following spring, as I understand it.

There are real disc plows that go in the ground more like a plow you know and as deep. But roll over stumps and rock far better than a plow. In Australia the disc plows had spring trips on each disc. They were helping clear brush off in making new farmland. Now days a heavy offset disc would do most work like that.

Me too ,I don’t even go over to watch them .

Spent the day there yesterday,  good time.

Wondered what had the steam engine loaded up and pulling so hard in the shelling area.....then drove over and saw them feeding a Cook's Special sheller to near max capacity.......man that thing was eating ear corn!

There is nothing to fix there.   It is suppose to follow in the furrow.  It’s a castor wheel.  They will do odd things as well as the front furrow wheel on a trailer plow until they find “home” in the furrow.
