  1. Thanks will it need sealer after that
  2. Thanks for the help, I’ll try some of these , I noticed the shop who has an ad in the redpower magazine has tank sealer. Should I put sealer in the tank after I get it clean.
  3. Back in the Spring I posted about this 966 that one of our landlords gave us . It had been sitting for about 30 years. We put a battery in it to see if it would turn over and it started right up. We got it home the other day and power washed it and changed the oil, and all the filters on the tractor. After I drained all the old fuel out and started it back up it ran fine for a while and I hooked it to the old corn shelled then it died in the field. Checked the fuel filters and they were empty. It plugged the elbow under the tank with black flaky stuff. After a hour or so getting tank off I hav
  4. This is the unit I put in our 5488. It came from Shoup@ 188.00. It came with the faceplate and both speakers. The speakers were around 50.00 extra. It is am/fm, Bluetooth and weather band. Sounds much better than the original which finally quit. It was a easy install.
  5. I’ve had three sets but only have one set right now, I think I have about 15 sets of the smaller 6788 weights.
  6. Here is a pic of the difference
  7. #6788 fits super C thru 450 #9042d fits W9 thru 650 wheat lands and high clear tractorsWith the 20” wheels , the smaller weights are easy to find around here , the larger 9042 are much harder to find.
  8. Hour South of Louisville, a lot of farmers will start harvest in the next week or so, saw several combines outside the sheds today with the side panels up getting them ready. Some wait until it’s dried down more to save drying but when you have a lot of acres you have to get started
  9. Neighbor started corn Harvest Saturday, we are about a week away from starting. Moisture was 22% with a 190 bpa average
  10. Soon as we get finished planting I’ll start working on it. It’s been so wet here in Ky we are way behind on planting , did get to plant the last few days. Blew a hydraulic line on the 5488 steering cylinder late this afternoon . It was a original hose from 1984 so I guess it was time. Have to fix that in the morning. We plant with. 350HD and. 5488. Our courses the planter I use doesn’t have the bulk fill tanks
  11. The tractor did nothing but heavy work and we never had any issues with the snap on duals when they were on the tractor. 1566’s get a bad rap about only being a 3 speed but it had all the speed needed in each gear.
  12. NO my Dad bought it around 1980, it was our main tillage and planting tractor for years. We pulled a 7-16 plow, 13 shank chisel plow and a 23’ 480 disk with a cultipacker behind it. The 1566 dynos 220hp. Here is a video of my late Dad plowing with it in 1993. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVVBC7KNBl8
  13. Here is a few pics of our other 66 series(1566)
  14. He is a good guy, we have known him forever and have farmed his land for a long time. Those fenders have been on there since the 80’s so I don’t think they are repo but something isn’t right on them . We will be changing all the fluids and filters, it needs a few other things also.
  15. He said we can have it , he doesn’t need it or want it just sitting there. He would rather see it running and doing something
  16. Not sure but you can tell it’s never had any on the front of the fenders
  17. It did, but there are a lot of people with half empty barns and sheds around here who leave a lot of their equipment outside year round. We keep everything inside when not in the field.
  18. I’ll get some more pics when we get it home. Plan on power washing it and putting the metal back on along with going over it. He put a new seat on it right before he parked it. The seat still has the plastic on it . The tractor has a little over 5000 hours on the tach. It chopped a lot of silage back when he was milking.
  19. One of our landlords has this 966 that has been sitting in a shed and not started since 1989 when he quit dairy farming and we started renting his farm. We asked him about it and he said we could try to get it running and to use it if it starts. We took some new fuel filters and planned to drain the tank and put in some new fuel first. We put one battery in it to see if it was stuck and it turned over fine. Just to see if it would start we gave it a shot of either and it fired right up within 5 seconds or so and ran really good. Really surprised it started on 30 year old diesel. All the tires
  20. Before my Dad died we went to salvage yards and got a lot of old parts, when we restored our tractors he wanted to get every option that was in the parts book for each tractor. We used a lot of parts on the tractors but have a lot of extra stuff on shelves. There is a lot more than what’s in the picture. I’ve kinda collected NOS parts and hard to get parts thru the years. I got a lot of parts from Glen Mlnarik, Mark Mathis and Steel Wheel Ranch years back. I like looking at the parts on the shelves but may sell some parts as others may need some things and I’ll never use most of them and won’t
  21. I was spraying fence row and around barns of one of our landlords today and as I was leaving a man who lives across from where I was at flagged me down and asked me to come over to his place to help load a mower. While I was there we went into his huge shop that is full of stuff. I saw these filters etc and asked if he would sell them he said no but you can have them. He quit farming back in the 80s and had these left over on some shelves. I tried to pay him but he wouldn’t accept. I told him I would spray around his barns to make a little payment . The filters are dirty but very little rust
  22. Wish I had gotten closer, but I just pulled on the side of the road to take the pics. I have seen these tractors on construction sites before.
  23. I was down in Campbellsville Ky today and saw these 4786’s hooked to dirt pans on a construction site. They had four of theses but only got pictures of three. The fourth one didn’t have any red paint left on it, All were well used but still earning their keep. With all the rain we have been having it was too muddy for them to work. More rain tonight🙁
  24. Is the Wampuscat now the Bad Bodacious Super Farm tractor tractor out of Ky now?
