Sno, here is a picture of the mower in question:

And the homemade hitch I'm using:

20250602_195335.thumb.jpg.0ee383a0a7b702a1d44fa1d166aaca44.jpg

I'm thinking that if I can torch that bar off, I can weld another one like it on that's a couple inches longer. It's at least half inch steel, if not thicker, so it ought to hold the mower up. What do you think?

That is an odd hitch set up on your mower. Standard length is 14" from end of pto shaft to center of drawbar pin hole. You could run into trouble with other equipment if you go past that and may even run into trouble with the shaft length on that mower? Maybe another piece bolted thru your drawbar hole and add an additional hole up front to keep it from pivoting? That way you can unbolt it if you need to go back to the shorter length for other equipment. Or just find another actual fast hitch drawbar?

Hadn't thought of that. I have a standard fast hitch drawbar, just no extension f9r it. Maybe I could make a bolt on one for that drawbar instead.

Finished up fertilizing and sprayed some.

Then tried to squeeze the rice levee up better.  That was FUBAR.  Hit the wet spot and it jammed up.  I have a mess to fix with my backhoe attachment now...

Sorry no pics.

May I ask where you got the 1456?

Looks like the one I saw sell at auction down here this winter.

It's a 1256.  Sold new at Williamson County Equipment in Taylor, TX.  I am the second owner.   Believe Graves Tractor in MN bought the 1456 you're referencing and have already resold it through one of their auctions.

Nice

Pretty original looking other than the hydraulic clutch which means it's been apart but that's likely a good thing. What year is it and I'm curious about the aux fuel tank.

Even has a TA, seems rare for a Texas tractor! Good looking 12!!

TAs were more common in Texas (especially west Texas) than the Delta. They were also more common on earlier than later tractors in the south.

Curious about how the hydraulic clutch indicates it has been apart. Practically every 1066 with a custom cab had one added when they became available and we sure didn't take them apart to do it.

It's a 67 model.  Most of the transformation is in the thread below.  Finished it up in May.  Everything on it now functions, including all of the cab options.

There was a Chance of thunderstorm at any time and I didn’t want to get rained on so instead of a 65 Hp Ford5000, I moved some winter pen packed manure and bale feeder mess with a 1466 9EF7CEE0-84EA-4D38-A682-2F31E2F7BDC4.thumb.jpeg.9bebb09bede6a64024c7c661f561d7c0.jpeg

It didn’t rain.  I know these cabs are unpopular, but that’s original paint…(and I like it)

I’m curious about the toolbox on the 1466. I presume it is homemade. With the diamond plate top, I’m guessing it is used as a platform to step up on; when fueling? Was it made that long because it holds a particular item?

Are the 666s in line for a paint job some day?

Mowed a few road sides with the H and 110 sickle mower. The mid mount mower is really nice but would be a better match on something with live PTO. I’d love to have a 300 to put it on. The faster 4th gear and TA would nice for mowing too.
