My wife's daughter went to Iceland on a vacation a few years ago. She mentioned in a postcard she mailed to us that she went in that museum, so yes I knew it existed.

I have been to Reykjavik, had to spend 3 days there due to flight delays to the UK. Must like fish, fresh, old, pickled you name it. Hotel had a buffet set up, 3 hot entrees' creamed herring, fried herring, stewed herring also some fish soup, herring again. 

Winter is long, not super cold but windy and damp. You need to have and activity it seems!

When I was younger and heard about someone I knew getting involved with another person who had kids already I would kind of cringe and wonder what they were thinking. Now it has gone the other way, at 40 if I meet a single person, particularly a woman without, I have to ask why. I can't speak to the penis museum but I can say that Iceland is well worth the visit. We used it as a fuel stop and crew change stop for years especially with some of the shorter range planes. My wife has a dozen Icelandic sweaters that always elicit comments when she wears them.

While I spent quite a few nights in Reykjavik, a super fun town summer or winter, when positioned for a crew swap I never got to see much of the rest of the country so a few years ago my wife and i went for a vacation. We had a car and drove pretty much the whole island and had probably the best vacation ever. There were no crowds, no admission fees, great food, nice B&Bs, etc. I highly recommend it. There are great waterfalls, glaciers, ice flows, etc. Sometimes we'd be at a waterfall or other attraction and nearly have the place to ourselves. I don't know why TomH was only served fish as there are excellent restaurants in Reykjavik serving all sorts of food, good beef, Italian, Thai, etc., and excellent seafood - more than herring. I suspect the airline provided hotel may have been a budget one. There are also volcanoes, lava flows, plenty of green areas too, Icelandic ponies that have an unusual gait so it's a smooth ride, whale watches and more.

Here's a typical glacier; I don't know why it went in sideways.

About as crowded as it got. These ice cubes calved off a glacier into a lagoon that eventually flowed to the sea.

 

Out to the ocean.

Then wash back on the beach.

And about the museum in Rijk Javik, this is a really famous location, which causes shock and smile in many, but this is where the special humor of the locals lies. After such intense trips to nature and long walks along the cold coast, it is great to relax in a cozy hotel with a cup of hot tea, and for a pleasant evening rest, you can look at  https://icasino-reviews.co.nz/paypal-casino-nz/ where there are a lot of interesting reviews and useful information. Rijk Javik is generally very cozy, especially if you choose not budget hotels, but local establishments with local cuisine.

No but I was fortunate enough to be at Kilauea during an unforeseen two day eruption back in the early '80s.  After having toured the whole Big Island including the many craters I heard that Kilauea had become active after having been quiet for years, so I drove up there. It was spouting lava in spectacular fashion in the caldera below Volcano House. There were only a few other spectators on the rim with me, maybe a hundred or so max. After a while it got very cold on the mountain so I drove back to my hotel in Hilo. As it got light I drove back and the eruption had died down to a huge pot of bubbling lava. The rangers let the small group of us get right up to it and the heat radiating was more than the biggest campfire - you had to rotate. It was blowing lava into the air which cooled a bit and came down like rocks with a soft core. When the wind shifted we had to back(run) away. The Hawaiian rangers were really laid back but the radio chatter increased, the ground rumbled and cracked we we beat a strategic retreat. Where flowing lava stops it often leaves a toe. I put my foot on one while walking past to feel the heat through the shoe and it cracked open! Volcano went quiet that day and was so for some years until wakening with a vengeance. Since I was then regularly flying there I got to see it again and fly over it often. Yeah, I had a great career.
