What did you do with your Red tractor today?

Moved out the neighbors mixer and moved in the second wagon gear for the second corn head header cart . Put a used round baler belt extension on the hopper auger along with fixing a little more of the auger. It really needs new flighting but that will wait for another year.

Our local rebuild shop just closed down several months ago.😢 Not sure where to take starters and alternators to get them rebuilt now.

New alternator on the 2144 went out tonight.  I think it is still under warranty from where my mechanic got it from.  However, I was able to limp home and finished my ridiculously long harvest of 2023.

Put new alternator on H: check.

Completely rewire H: check.

New tappet gasket for H: check.

Start H and see how it runs: check.

Swap the 1 and 2 wires on the alternator, ruining the regulator, blowing out two lights, smoking the coil, and boiling the battery: check.

Idk the guy here that does it charges enough that it's easier to just get aftermarket ones. I did see him at Amish sawmill working on rewiring and grounding a 5.9 Cummins power unit and he whining about how he China was putting him out of business 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ plus I can see why people don't want to with him he's not a real pleasant person to be around

Ran a little more corn again. Both grain carts and 17 wagons are full now. This is the itty bitty wagon. When I pulled it in the shed at the end of the night the boys said there was an animal stuck in the corn head.... Wabbit was hiding in the snout for who knows how many acres.....

Yesterday was kind of a strange weather day here. Damp from a couple tenths of rain overnight. Warm for this time of year and overcast with just a lite breeze. Called the man I'm getting the radiator for the 450 from, nobody home. He called back later, going to get it Sunday.

So, what to do? Get the 756 out and move some stuff! The Allis cultivator has sat in that spot for a very long time. It got walloped pretty good in the derachio and the big silver maple it was next to is all kinds of hollow. I'm going to find it laying in the yard one of these days. Moved the cultivator and two back blades to new locals so that stupid tree doesn't fall on them.

Checked fitment on the clamshells I altered from 806 axles to 4fiddy . I have to slide tires out slightly so I will mount on opposite bevels after painting wheels . Reusing fender widening brackets from a M I got for parts

Been tinkering on this the last couple days.  It’s only been here a couple weeks.  Added some suitcase weights, wheel weights, the K&M steps, new tool box, installed new clutch and brake boots, moved the front wheels, added a quick hitch, took the CB radio and after market radio out of the cab, since it didn’t have the correct hazard lights I put some LED ones on it, top link was half froze up, the only thing that didn’t work was the rear red light so I replaced the little bulb and it works now.  Still have a little wiring to clean up,  need to order some led lights.   I moved the seven prong plug for implements that the owner added to the position I always put them and I added a bracket to hold a monitor in the cab as well as a 3 prong amp connector for powering electronics.  Dang straight 1066.  Year old t/a and clutch.  Air works.  Tight and runs like new.  7500 hours.  It’s a 1974.

We have been getting some rain so we are wetter than that.  Sure does look like fun.  It’s not terribly unusual to do some tillage here in December.  Looks good!

Was dry all month until now. We had rain last couple days. No frost yet, so if there was more to do a guy could have.  And yes, something about running the chisel in the fall with the heat houser is very fun. Cruella sings just as beautiful as an old Don Williams song.
