What did you do with your Red tractor today?

No pictures, but I took it for a ride. Hauled over the mountain to Londonderry to clean up a spoils pile and  sand pile only to find it WAY too soft to do much with. Bucket dragged my way out and loaded up and headed home.

Changed the rubber seat cushions in the seat of the Farmall C .that was a tussle . 
Went to o Buckeye Auto electric to pick the Farmall C starter I dropped off  Wednesday. 
Took in the Generator to be redone .

Finally collected all the "extra" parts for the H project, and installed them today. Foot starter, PTO lever under the seat, brake lock extension, new Farmall badge on the front, new muffler clamp, and seat cover. Decided to straighten out the wire mesh on the pre cleaner while I was at it too. Figured since it was snowing I might as well put all the parts I've gathered up on. All that I need now is a belt pulley (may have won one in an online auction) and the starting tank and plumbing for it. This old H was originally a distillate tractor but somewhere down the line it lost the starting tank. I didn't realize how hard they were to find, besides how expensive they are!

I thought this old rusty emblem looked better than the beat up wirewheeled one. And it fits the "crusty rusty H" persona a lot better. 

Has anyone ever seen a PTO lever like the one in the second photo? No markings on it. It was an ebay find, for a pretty decent price. It sure beats bending over for the old rod, whoever made it.

Foot starter level was an ebay find too. For $20 I couldn't pass it up. The brake lock came from my scrap iron pile, as did the ring on the belt pulley rod. I'm sorta dangerous with a welder...

Gave the starter couple shots of 2x rustolem glossy clear , it looked so nice . Should hold off the rust a few days in Ohio

Mac, I'm going to have to say homemade on your pto lever. It's definitely not a M&W, which is the only factory made pto lever that i'm personally aware of.

Not much today. Did get the 560 started and up to the garage to finally get a frost plug heater installed. Hopefully up my chances of getting the old girl started if I really need it in cold weather. 

Oh, I'm sure I'm the only one who didn't know this. But if you over tighten the lil center retainer bolt and squeeze the o ring out it won't seal up very good. I caught it as I was adding antifreeze back in. Loosened up the bolt and carefully tightened it back up again. Think I got lucky. Or at least hope I did..😬

Edit. I used a lil bit of o ring lube to help lessen the chances of any o ring tear or cuts. After cleaning up the hole of course. Might look like silicone around it, but it isnt.

Hooked onto the 900 8r wide planter and ran it to the shop.  Fixed a tire on the Allis Min Till chisel so I can put it at the other farm.  Nice day.  40 and sunshine.

Like the heat houser. Got one for the 300 but I can't put it on now without taking the radio off and I really don't wanna do that. Guess I'd rather listen to the radio and be cold!

Ran this 1066 back in the shop and mounted the monitor and switch box for my 900 8-36 with kelderman fold. Need to get things hooked up so I can raise and lower it and set it out to 38” rows.

How do you like the Hiniker cab compared to the factory cab on the other 1066?

Used the Cub to pull the woodsplitter down to the firewood pile. Stupid thing didn't want to run right; wanted to smother down when starting back up the hill even in first gear. I adjusted the carb and governor a bit and still no joy. May try a new set of points and condenser, and futz with the timing a bit when it warms up. For now, the 340 will likely take over splitter duty. To d@mned frustrated to take any pictures, sorry.

The red factory cab is the best of the YAR, Hiniker or even the early IH custom cab.  My opinion.

Well wanted to replace the defective C push pull switch  to the control box. 
Been in and out a lot , created a muddy sloppy walk way ,had to throw down some straw to keep the muddy boots from tracking into the garage. 

The push pull switch had corroded so bad the crimping to the insulation disc had super glue let go . Put in a new switch from brillman s, today. 
 

Fingers very cold . In and out to warm them up. Sun out doesn’t do anything to , wind just cuts .
