Put the platform back on 756 D yesterday, still spongey. Some investigation that involved looking at the other 3 tractors from that series here showed that it is missing a piece of angle iron toward the front. Curious as to why? The front piece isn't even drilled for it. Going to make one and install it! 856 has a different piece all together. 

Found another broken screw I got to remove yesterday and a lovely mouse nest under the seat! Seems to be no shortage of broken fasteners to fix on this one. It's wintertime...

You’re passing me in progress lol.  Had a setback today and had to change plans a bit. Figured no big deal I’d run in and grab some more steel.  Apparently they took the week off for Christmas though so here I sit. Brother looked through their machine shop and found some pieces that will work for me but I won’t see him till Friday.  Guess that gives me a good excuse to go to his Christmas supper now though.  Hopefully the weathers not to bad. Was planning on going anyways but this kind of seals the deal so to speak lol.

Changing the 806s hydraulic filter and this spring was laying in there...

I had the injection pump from my Hydro 84 rebuilt and am starting to get it back together.

Have a Chainsaw tore down currently with a scored piston. Got parts today so hopefully I'll have a day to get it put back together by early next week

I worry when I see that, about what caused it, operator error like a dull chain, or something with the machine itself. I was just guessing from the bit of color on the piston.  My brother had that happen with his brand new Stihl 500, like in the first couple of days. They did warranty it, but I don't know what actually caused it.

Mount is done except for adding some kind of limiter for the tilt. I made it so by just removing the center bolt, I could use the mount for something else. Those one of a kind brackets for the quick attach are a little on the pricey side. The original set up had the truck structure (in the out of focus picture) welded solid to the brackets. Now, on the the hoses.

Shuffling the shed and trying to get these 2 to run.  3010 is so frustrating and the M5 just needs all new wiring.

Off and on for a while I've been working at digging out the crawlspace down at my other place. I was flat dragging this mortar pan in and out of there, but that got old so I whipped up this cart for it. Got inspired by the "great Escape" movie where they used something similar in their tunnel. Anyway, some scrap metal and some wheels from Craigslist and I'll see how it works next week.

20 years ago 24’ of skeleton hay elevator track (2” sheet metal) was $400 or $600, which I thought was insane.  Metal shop bent me up some for $200 or 300, but they couldn’t bend a 2” channel, had to be 2.5”, which was fine.  
 

Recently decided to replace the track on this 32’ elevator.  Metal shop told me 2 weeks before they could bend it, but they’d sell me 20’ of 1x2” x1/8” metal tube for $40, So I  bought a $200 Amazon plasma cutter, and made 40’ of 1/2”x2” elevator track in about 20 minutes.  I’m tickled.

I have been told if you’re at wide open throttle when it runs out of gas it can score the piston.    ???

I wouldn’t think so, even at high rpm, with no fuel for ignition, seems like rotation and surely the heat of ignition, would stop pretty fast.   But idk. I’ve seen 10k rpm snowmobile engines run out of fuel/have fuel lines blow off, while under heavy dyno load, and pistons were good

The only 656 I ever saw with ICB cab turned up sitting outside on the original family farm it was bought new on. I went over to get some measurements so when I put mine on its a one shot deal. 

it was for sale about 10 years ago and I put an offer in to the Grandson. He said it was his but he had to ask his father. I called back the next day and he said he accepted my offer but another guy was coming tomorrow to look at it🫢what the...... so I told the kid I suppose the other guy will get it for 50 bucks more than my offer He said" no I wouldn't do that " I said well what are you doing? I withdrew my offer and there it sits. 

A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush!

Cart was a workout still but better than no wheels . Mouse got into a hat I left down there . 35 years or so ago when I was dating my future wife, she came to visit me in a little country house I was living in. When she walked in the kitchen she saw a mouse sitting in a blue hat like this one on one of the counter tops. So, I've come full circle in a lifetime of fighting rodents and losing.

A fellow is coming tomorrow with a couple straight trucks for me to load.  Don't look like much from that pic but it's quite a bit.  Lots and lots of wild cherry.
