Reportedly 161 more built after that one.

first 1256's were on the lot at Lemans when my grandfather bought this one.  It is a late one for sure.

I have a 1206 with a sn 14960 sy .  We got it at Styliesville Equipment Auction just east of Monrovia ,Indiana  in August of 1975  . Just wandering a little history on her . It came from black land dirt country for when I changed the air filters the first time they were black . It has the throttle arm cut and brazed back on in a 45 deg to the right for some reason and had a Year Round cab on it which we took off and 2 fender lights mounted on front each side .  It also has the 56 style shifters . Just  wandering what dealer sold the tractor or if some one might recognize the changes the first owner had dun . I was 17 when we got the 1206 now at 67 and we both are semiretired . It’s in southern Indiana now . Any help would be appreciated Thanks 😊

Thanks IHBrad, it sure would be nice if all keepers of serial numbers would do the same as IHBrad has done here. I never have understood 1 member holding a tractor by model registry if they are not going to share it. Not saying you have to list names as mentioned above but total numbers and by State is very interesting to look over. The way I see it is why give the numbers for one member to lock away? It's not a privacy issue if you just present as he did above.

Very Nice Work Brad!!!

I fully agree with SimplyIH.  If someone wants to collect serial numbers for their private consumption that’s fine.  Let’s just identify which model tractor that is & see if someone else wants to start tracking in the fashion of Brad & SimplyIH.  This has quickly gotten to be a long thread so my apologies if someone else already jumped on the obvious.

Straanger - you are so correct - I misread the date of the year.  I certainly didn’t mean to distract from the intent of the thread or my suggestion that if the model of tractor in question’s info isn’t being shared that maybe the log could be picked up by someone else.  Please excuse my irrelevant comment about “quickly gotten to be a long thread.” - Jonathan
