wjohn Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I am not finding an equivalent Case (pre-Case IH) forum on the internet. Where do all of those guys hang out? Or is there not one? I just dragged home a 1950 D that one of my neighbors was about to haul to the scrapyard. Quote
Big Bud guy Posted August 22 Posted August 22 The Case forum over at YTmag is about the only one of know of that has good knowledge. But like all forums there are a few over there that can’t smell their own $hi1 2 2 Quote
Lazy WP Posted August 22 Posted August 22 There are a couple really good groups on Facebook that deal with the J I Case. After Loren passed away I haven’t been on any of them much. Quote
Sask466 Posted August 22 Posted August 22 There are some closeted Case lovers on here, and perhaps a few other Case-curious individuals. 1 Quote

acem Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I'm a fan of some Case tractors but don't own any. I've spent some time on 70 and 90 series Case tractors. They are good tractors. Part of the bigger family here like Stigier, Ford, New Holland, etc. Quote

I corresponded with him some on my wife's grandpa's 730 LP Case when he was having some issues with the lift and and the Case-o-Matic. He sure was a lot of help, even sent us some copies of the parts book pages we needed. Wasn't long after he passed that I quit YT for the reasons stated above... 2 Quote
dads706 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 My brother who is a big time Case collector said the only one he knew was the JI Case page on YT . Quote
Big Bud guy Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I thought John Salei was good. I got parts from him for one of my 500s. Don’t know if he still posts there. I thought he was from 766man neck of the woods 1 Quote
mmi Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Have not found any, and remaining steelers are worse ('85>) they simply bleed the fiat $$$ koolaide....new every two. Dont care to sell $9 seals for $200 a27139, nor confirm sub # progression of hub g14042-a38187 to ? A57336 that now takes a pair of the new 2x($12) single a57250 SHame since playing catch up the 530/80 made EVERYONE else the construction divisions they have today. Quote
Lars (midessa) Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I worked for neighbor years ago that had a predominantly JI Case fleet of tractors, 30 series and 70 series. Good powerful tractors, easy to work on. 1 Quote

Another one is Tom Stanley, lives near Gillett Wyoming. I have a few Case tractor. 😏 1 Quote

I thought he was from 766man neck of the woods John is not even 15 miles away from me. The interaction is minimal as we never had any Case products here. We know each other well enough to say hello like when we were at the gas station at the same time a few years ago. John had a few side businesses years ago on top of the Case parts but not sure if he is doing anything besides Case parts currently. 1 Quote

Our paths don't cross often at all to really talk to him much. If I don't have any business to take me to somebody's place I don't tend to stop by for a visit. Quote
wjohn Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 Thanks everyone... I have avoided that other forum for years. Not sure if I am that interested in getting involved with it so I may have to seek Case advice elsewhere when the time comes to actually get to work on it. For now it will sit right next to the M that also needs an engine rebuild. Here are a couple of pics for any of the closet Case guys on here. The engine is of course locked up and that one rear rim disintegrated. Had to pull the fender off to keep it from getting too trashed. The tractor does have PTO, hydraulics, and a belt pulley. I always wanted a wheatland type of tractor and this will fill that niche. EDIT: Well, I tried. It keeps giving me an error when I try to upload pictures this morning. Either something is down with the forum right now, or it is detecting that they are Case tractors an not IH, and purposefully blocking them. 1 Quote
