Picked up a rare 706.

I had to drive 9 hours but it was worth it.

International 706 gas. Per info I've found here they only made 299 and roughly 75 got converted to propane. So it's 1 of only 225 or so made.

Tach says 2711 and I believe it's original, no wear on drawbar or pedals. Oil change numbers in cab show it only got 500 hours since the mid 90's. Oddly it's got 8 bolt front hubs.

Cab and loader are definitely coming off.

Yeah, don't see the gas standards or "I" series too often. Nice find. I've got one pic of a gas Standard and it's LP.

I like it.  

Had a friend with a 706D standard set up for rice.  Big Rice and Canes in back.  Single rib fronts.  3pt and PTO.  Could have been a 'Rice Special' but didn't have the stickers.  Definately was a rice tractor (was still in rice country).

What state or province did you find it at? The gas tractors and propanes were popular in small areas but a lot seem to be in the Kansas area.

I like those old full fender standards. The only one I ever ran with a loader was a Massey 55, and it didn't make an ideal loader tractor, but better than a shovel!

Just west of you out in Stanley. And he said he bought it 25 years ago south of Minot.

There is or was a pocket of gas or propane tractors out in that area and north to the Canadian border. A lot of Oliver white  and Minneapolis tractors out in that area years ago.

Looks clean.  I cant imagine using something that little hrs!

Imho....leave the cab on if you restore her.  Cabs are unique now vs belly button open stations at shows.  Wonder how it was as a loader?  Do "I" standards turn very tight even?  But yes, better then the alternative in 1967..a shovel

It's  like pulling a parachute down the road, cabs on toy tractors is a big NO.  Plus it's almost impossible to get into.

Was this your first time out to western nd? I have only been west to Stanley a couple times with the oil traffic out there it gets busy.

Loader looks tough,built. I bet set of round bale forks it would move some hay in the winter. Those big hind tires would go through the mud.

I certainly don’t consider myself an expert on that vintage wheatland, but I believe the front tire options were 7.50-20 or 10.00-16, and both options were on 8 bolt hubs. It’s definitely unusual to see a gas that vintage!

My roommate was from Stanley when I went to college in Williston. Back then it was part of the university system and was called UND-W. Today it is Williston State College.

I have a high school friend who moved to Keif over 20 years ago so I've been east of Minot many times.  I've only been to Williston once before it was an oil town. 

I love traveling through ND, very scenic compared to here.

Got the loader and cab off today, new used muffler went on after I took the Pic. Tomorrow it gets pressure washed.
