CRVB91 Posted May 15 Posted May 15 The 300 is definitely better suited to the jobs you're looking to do than the Super M! It has better maneuverability and fuel efficiency than a super M. The super M is probably a little overqualified, it has more power (44/47hp < 35/38) and is better with the heavier jobs - so unless you're dragging a more modern rotary rake, a large tedder or working uphill then I'd take the 300 but thats just my personal opinion. 1 Quote

TomH Posted May 15 Posted May 15 A 300 was available with live PTO and hydraulics , fast hitch, power steering and other improvements. But the 300 is the next step from the super H so for horsepower you would be taking a step backwards to a smaller tractor. If you need these improvements especially live PTO and hydraulics you would want to look for a 400 or 450. For just raking with pull type implements I would just keep the super M. 3 Quote

Gearclash Posted May 15 Posted May 15 A 300 nimble? That all depends on the power steering. When I was young, my dad had a SMTA and a 300. The 300 was a gutless barge compared to the SMTA. No power, no power steering, and just about as long as the SMTA. There was nothing to like about the 300. Quote
