We had a similar at the store. A man and wife had a couple pieces of antique furniture in the back seat. To tall for the roof to go over so the were traveling I-80 in the winter with the top down. Don't know where they were from but they were going to Colorado. They had parkas on, goggles, and were buried in blankets. They said they would go 100 miles or as far as they could until they couldn't stand the cold . Then they would stop, go in and get coffee/hot chocolate, warm up for a half hour and then go on. Long ways acoss Nebraska and not as many places to warm up.

Fish Creek Hill and the Apache Trail. That road goes from Apache Junction to just above Roosevelt Dam, following the Salt River. It was closed for quite a while during repairs from a major rock slide.

Yep, GPS don't always get you there...

This reminds me of the time I got a call from a neighbor... Do you know there is a Werner semi about a 1/4 mile in your corn field?

I don't know if they ever found the driver, but they never fixed my fence either.

We have a farm on a dead end county road in very rural Missouri. Getting stuck became a major problem with drivers that were attempting to deliver to a Smithfield pork plant. It was just a little more than a dirt road and was miles from the plant in the wrong direction. They would get to the dead end then attempt to turn around in our field, no matter what the weather was. So many trucks got stuck turning around that the county finally put up a sign not to turn down the road in a semi. I didn’t think it would actually help, but it has not happened since they put up the sign.

We have a dirt road that runs through our farm. 2/3 of  It was closed in the ‘40s or ‘50s. The remaining 1/3 is still used, but the 2/3 is now part of about 4 different hay/corn fields between us and the neighbors.  Massive steep hill.  We don’t travel the part that use to be a road with anything more than a  UTV, or a tractor towing maybe an Empty hay wagon.   Every so often we see  a UPS or FedEx truck come bouncing down over the hill. An Amazon truck  got out of control last summer, shot out into the hay field (going down hill, wet grass, never be able to stop) and ended up in the ditch out by the main rd.   He came and asked for a tow, as dispatch told him it would be 4-5hr before a tow truck could get there.   I asked him what he was thinking, when the black top stopped, then the two-track gravel  with grass in the middle stopped, and the tree branches started hitting the truck, and then the gravel stopped and became 3’ of grass. And he just kept his foot on it.  It’s unsightly,  but we had the town put up Road Closed signs after that.  (But there’s no road…)

When I said GPS isn't always correct and they never fixed my fence.

The guy went  miles down a gravel road, then made a sharp left turn. This left turn took him off the gravel, down and back up the road ditch (that must have been a ride) then straight through my fence, and out into the corn field. When he finally stopped there were so many corn stalks wedged under the semi tractor that the front wheels were a foot off the ground. No idea where he thought he was going to go.

Called Werner a half dozen times asking when they were going to fix my fence. They probably figured "just ignore him, he'll go away". I did.

At least when the wrecker pulled him out they used the gate hole.

Had women yell at me and ask me what I did with the road or where is it a few times. There never was a road across my field but there is an abandoned part of the town/private road that we use down in the woods that went where they want to go 100 years ago....and they missed the no longer existant turn 1/4 mile before they ended up in my dooryard.

Y'all misunderstand. This is for when your family and neighbors all bleed green, but you want a real tractor but don't want to listen to all their flack.
