I see no issue with live 209's. They pose more danger than spent 209's but only if you are really handy with a hammer and punch. mike newman Posted June 5 Posted June 5 ......reinstated the very small skid site, after finished logging...couple weeks gone...Battery in camera went flat so few pics ...Removing the big ''shovelling'' grapple is a mission...as it is affixed direct on the dipper arm....oil lines to plug/big swivel pin to hammer out and it is heavy.....then I managed to put the bucket ram , on upside down...and that is bloody heavy, also, hence the 5 ton 'Yanmar' to hold up the ram , whilst we spun it 180 degrees....(..this was the preferred option, to learning a new, involved ,shift pattern.... ) Picture of our old Hi-Lux (Toyota ) with the car trailer (!!!) shifting another heavy object...the root rake, down to the logging block for the clean up.... The old bloke with the perished follicles is me....having a ''tool box meeting " and a cuppa, down at our local wharf... On the back ground hills , was the last of ''our'' logging operations... DT Fan Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Hooked the blade on the 756 D., then backed it into a tree, it moves! Worked it back and forth a bit, still stiff but getting better. Changed the zerk but doesn't want to take grease, yet. That blade is going to need a lot of love, starting with a new cutting edge and lots of new bolts. Edit; also got the tires on the 78 Allis hayrake. One step closer to doing something with it. 8 Quote
MT Matt Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Finished servicing the NH 1495 swather today. The hydraulic filter came in and I dumped the oil out of the hydro system. Spent a day pulling shields to grease everything and check gearboxes. Followed the book to find everything. Finished the tow hitch after a run to Missoula to find a new coupler. Last thing tomorrow is safety chains. Might get a little rain tomorrow night so Saturday I will put it in a field next to the house and see what happens. 10 Quote

IHKeith Posted June 19 Posted June 19 We’ve been working on this 68 Oldsmobile F-85. New tires and replacing all the suspension bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler arm, centre link and shocks. We ended up having to pull the headers to access the lower control arm bolts, had to lift the engine and remove the starter to get them out. A terminal broke on the solenoid but we were able to get a new solenoid for $30. Josh has done most of the work himself, I did the control bushings and the risky parts with the coil springs. He’s done well, handled it better than when he started in the trade 2 years ago. 7 Quote
