When that time comes, if it comes, you will know it in your heart, the decision will make itself

It will not be easy, sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest thing.

Cash went to sleep for the last time with his head in my lap, me talking to him and scratching him on the head softly.

Tore me up badly

Even though I knew I was doing a kindness, I am still having trouble with it.

Django seems to know when I am feeling my worst and brings his goofy A game to bring me out of my funk

Just know your decision is made out of love and respect.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks Jeff.  Here he is trying to enjoy his last night while panting 60 times a minute.  He has fluid in his abdomen and can hardly walk a few steps.  It is playing out as the Dr said it would.  He was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve and congenital heart failure a year and a half ago so we've been lucky to have him this long!  I looked in my pictures and we got him in April of 14.  He has always been a happy dog and we will miss him horribly.  The vet is coming to the house tomorrow after her office appointment around 4 pm.  That is when you will see a grown man cry like a baby!

Sorry to hear. They always bring us a lot of joy and never seen to be in our lives long enough. I'm sure he enjoyed his life with y'all as much as you enjoyed him in your's.

I am sorry to hear this @Rawleigh99. I know the feeling well, with all my sheep and goats.

Here is my sisters baby orphan goat. His name is Miles

RIP sweet Marley!  He was the happiest dog I've ever known. He always had that cute underbite smile and what I called his Happy Tail that would wag so fast when he saw you. He always greeted guests at the door with a toy in his mouth.  I couldn't have asked for a better dog.

I wish I had recorded the little moans he made when I scratched his butt. It was hilarious.

My daughter wanted him cremated so he sent him off with one of his toys.

You know dogs are so happy since every day in their lives is like a week of ours in time.  They get it and want to make the most of it everyday!

Sorry about your pup.

When I lost my little man three years ago, I had taken pictures of him the last few day and  those pictures pop up in my phone “memories” slide shows every so often.  I really need to erase those, as his last few days were tough and that’s not how I like to remember him.  Crap. I’m getting sad just typing this.

Rawleigh, my heart aches for you tonight

You have my sincerest condolences.

You also have many wonderful memories of Marley.

When you get felling low, think of what he did to make you smile before and use those memories to let you smile again.

The Lord blesses us with these Angels to bring us joy.

We are so fortunate to have them in our lives as long as we do.

Out on our daily walk rain or shine. Scared up 11 whitetails within 5 minutes then about a half hour later 6 more then about two hours later 17 more.  I always laugh at the guys that say theres no deer to hunt. IMG_6082.thumb.jpeg.dcdc0fcc154cd3451b4a5bbef11f3634.jpeg

It would appear that the dog was listening when the weather forecast for the weekend came on.

Looks like you must be in a bad neighborhood!!

Well, kinda sorta, yeah

That was a couple days after they saw a mountain lion trotting across a pasture they were feeding cows in.

Cooper is a very happy boy today - blue sky, sunshine and a warm 14° (around 57.5) degrees outside = perfect mix for an afternoon out, game of ball included!
