Well they are 1200 a piece now...so buy em..the lot for 1200 is my guess...not a huge market in Ak for them....sure save the back and shoulder pain.

 I would like to come up and see this before I am not able but don't think I could stand it year round. The cold here has got where it hurts and its nothing like what you have. I had a chance to work on that line when it was built but turned it down for a job in the south, always regretted not going.

My mother's cousin and her husband moved there back in 1959 with the "59 ers" from Michigan that moved there and homesteaded. Probably lived there 30+ years until they retire to - get this - to Hawaii :). So I have 2nd cousins in the Anchorage area.

You should at least come to visit, maybe try some fishing.  There were a lot of people working here during construction, 70,000 on the line, another untold number filling to boom spots.  And it’s never to late, at least for a visit

Not to uncommon, Alaskans feel that by the time they retire they have seen enough white stuff and cold so it’s time to go somewhere warmer, maybe come back and enjoy the summers and the grandkids.

Interesting. Gas and diesel are the same price. Don't think I have ever seen that before.

They don’t sell much gasoline, I think they just charge the same to make it easier, and if you don’t like it you can drive 300 miles to the next station

Well, here we go.  A few years back when I was headed south to seep Troy & Tony a guy in the airport wanted to sell me his super A, later the price was more then I was comfortable with.

 

he called me the other day, I asked what the price was, he said he needed it gone so come make an offer.   Pictures this afternoon.

Oh, and we got three inches of snow last night.  Yuck.   Still 18 inches on the field and frozen 4 foot down I am sure.  We have 350 more flowers coming Memorial Day, and we need to make raised beds.  Gonna be close

the motor has been rebuilt, it is a 47 model he believes, and there are no hydraulic anything’s. There is a linkage, but it is not attached to anything.

Up there things cost more. My guess is around here it would be 2-2,500 as the tin looks great. Hydraulic missing most likely because it is a plain A not a super. Super A came out later than '47

At least the block has the cover on it , so a pump/hydraulic system could be added. The earlier blocks didn't have that.

I had a straight A with a mechanical lift 1 bottom plow. There are a lot of pieces to make the plow work, levers, linkages, springs, etc. If you get it, hopefully he has all that stuff with it. The tractor looks good. Down here they bring between $500 and $2500

I was thinking that 1500 to 2000 wouod be fair.  It is in good shape and he did a nice job when he went thru it.

He has a pile of parts for the plow that came with the tractor, but he says he has never put it on the tractor.

It's not about needing it!  The linkage looks like what was used on the pneumatic/exhaust lift system. I have some parts here, possibly enough to complete it but then you would have a pretty useless lift system. Maybe the plow was set up for an exhaust lift??

I used mine to plow my small garden and it worked, but you had to be pretty strong to work the controls, and it was a pain to hook up and get set right. If it was all you had to plow with, you could get it done, but there are other way better rigs for that.  Main value of the plow, IMHO is the historical significance, since there are so few working examples left.

Your right, and I like the tractor.  It is nicely done and the plow might be good to go.  I was wondering if the linkage was a set up was for the vacuum/exhaust lift since I have never seen one in person.  

When it comes to the tractor, I want to build my shop first, and taking 2,000 from my shop funds is not what i am prepared to do for this tractor, maybe others,  but I had a great time meeting him, starting his old tractor, and visiting with a fellow Minnesota refuge that got trapped here in the land of the midnight sun. 

He he asked me if I didn’t want it if I could recommend a fair asking price.  And I thought you guys might be able to help.  I am afraid that he will call me again in awhile, maybe in the fall, and ask for less than it’s worth.  Everyone needs 3point, loaders, and hydraulics.  This is a parade tractor
