AKwelder Posted June 2, 2018 Author Posted June 2, 2018 Went out to see the 504 tonight It has a US Corp of engineers tag on the from. It was purchased by the US army in 64 the cab had this tag there is water in the engine oil, but the exhaust cap is missing, no oil in the radiator though. Started up and ran. Throttle was buggered up. The dash wiring was a mess, along with most of the wiring. Tires were new. 1 Quote

Weighted up plenty heavy by the looks of it. Yeah, it’s heavy. The plack from the cod of engineers calls the shipping wieght as #7000. And it is odd. No PTO. And the front is louvres that you can close in the winter. It really is pretty rough and has milky oil. But maybe the exhaust cap being off did that? I don’t know. not for two grand is what I am thinking. Only thing it would do is plow snow Quote

Tree top snapped off and landed on my bees nest gor it sorted out and back together, it should be alright also have plants growing, we upgraded the pump on the irrigation and will be starting to set up irrigation on the new plot Quote

I will try to get pictures later today Gotch ya, So if I had a set of points and a bar/shaft it would clamp right to it and then run a cable between the touch control and the lift mechanism then it’s on to the PTO, I really don’t want to cut this shaft down, anyone know of somewhere for the PTO shaft to pulley shaft connection? Bleedinred Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 The A frame action will lift the bar more or less parallel to the ground when you get converted over to FH. You'll have to fiddle with the rod/chain length to get the outboard hinge/paralell lift actions correct. Check your bar/hinge bushings, moving the end of the bar by hand front to back. You will want those to be pretty tight. Rowse rakes in Nebraska is your cheapest place for parts. They hold the IH patents now. I think it was $3.50 ea for the steel bushings and $36 for the brass one on the wobble box hinge. You could probably make yourself a drive line, those are fairly light and inexpensive knuckles and crosses, or buy a jobber length, cut it and be done. I've been mowing banks and terraces in our vineyards with my 3 pt. #300. I put a small hyd cylinder in place of the lift rod and and it will lift the bar 90 degrees. 1 Quote

Lol One I have is incorrect where the pipe clamps to the fastpitch but that one has the pulley and everything to make it operatable as it theoretically did work when I got it. The other has the one pulley missing and a log splitter attached in place of the pulley. A piece of pipe and flame cut the fast hitch prongs out , locate someone to weld it together and Wala you might be in business. I would look at the PTO shaft as it might be able to be cut shorter and look oem 1 Quote

Leaving town one of the trail heads lose to town dropping into into the valley near coldfoot And more valley, that’s the Brooks Range ahead And the pipeline huge granite mountain (I think) that always takes a good picture power unit for a remote valve, really neat ORMAT generators keep battery banks charged, antennas for remote control, very cool stuff. Very few moving parts, runs off below ground propane tanks Atigun pass, and a bit chilly still south side North side Someone hualing a Quad Trac south Panorama of the mountains around us as we come out the valley on the north side of the brooks, not sure if you can really see it Snow cats headed south Muck ox on side of road Side dumps on on the road construction, they are raising 60 miles of road nearly 10 foot and almost doubling the width.
