You could easily build a headache rack that fits on the quick hitch.

I think a person would have to hit a castle wall head on at speed to put the logs into the tractor cab.  Once they are settled in the cradles they don't move willingly at all.  One thing I do see though.  I noticed my nephew's log trailer has a steel spine about 1/2" thick by 2" high welded to the floor of each cradle.  Most likely it's sole purpose is to dig into the bottom logs and prevent them from sliding.  I would add that to your trailer, bitty, before trying to fab a headache rack.  But I'm not an expert on this subject.

I had a chain and binder on the front when I was hauling home .. I still think a headache rack will be wanted

I have friends who have been loggers all their lives.

One friend twice had a headache rack save his life in wrecks.  Trust me.  You can bind/strap it down properly and when things go way wrong they can still try to kill you.

Added some trussing to the frame on my sawmill. It was probably needed because I raised the lower tubing so with the sawmill completely up the engine bolts are now the lowest thing . I probably added 3" to possible board thickness. Added a roof out of a plastic bed liner so I can tarp the sides to keep it out of the weather and sunlight . The roof will be nice to use because I often use it when weather is bad for fieldwork

Doing a little rat rod fabbing . Shortened the fuel tank 4" . I will split it down the middle to widen it enough to match up with the W9 hood and grill . Then it will go on my pulling M so I can fix my fuel tank flow issues... It's getting a little aluminum tank under the regular fuel tank area . I've been under the weather for a day and a half and I started on this after doing stuff at the farm. I'm hoping to have it look fairly stock from the stands for a factory row crop 9 😁

 

I always wanted a grill this wide . I'll probably weld it all together and then it will tilt up . It's probably getting a bolster delete also when I replace the frame rails someone hacked with a torch.

I have a Hud-son mill too, how do you like the log dogs? Sometime I'd like to make something different , I haven't totally settled on what though.

I don't like them much. I'm kind of thinking that I want to add hydraulics to my Mill to be able to run a hydraulic log dog set up, a little cylinder at either end to raise the log up to level it, and if I was doing that much I might as well make a rotator for the log. The way I'm set up on the tractor trailer frame holds me off the ground enough to easily be able to add that stuff to my track because it has a spot to tuck down out of the way when not in use.

It's mostly together. I'm to the point of needing to get the M in the shop and fit the hood assembly and the figure out where all I can brace the tank area . The tank once welded solid enough and the incorrect holes in the hood will be welded a patch and probably fiberglass the tank to fit the hood better. The side profile is ok but the top of the hood radius is different than the M tank . The way I am making it the hood bolts in the center but I think it will hinge up with the rest and not have to take off like it conventionally would

I have only been able to access by the search feature lately. Some things that are getting done in our excessive rain time . In the picture is a brass hammer my cousin made me. The silver wheel center and IH hub is the start of a portable vise base for around the shop. Was a hub with a cut off axle from a sale. Wedges won't move so this is a good use for it . Window guards for pulling the vertical beater hydro push spreaders

What should be the main structure for a 12x24 chicken shed for my wife is sawn and on my flatbed wagon. I was shy one 3"x11"x24' beam before I cut it this afternoon. Dunno when I will get the time to erect it and figure out what other wood I need to cut for it. I saved used tin from the sliding doors off my shed for the roofing

You like those push spreaders?  Seems the Deere guys like them as the Deere design was copied or bought by pikerite?  The Tubeline with chain and slat seems to carry sloppy manure around to the bottom side which in turn likes to fall off going down the road.

Very much like the Hydro push spreaders. One was used out of Lancaster area and the other came out of Canada. MX tractor variable hydraulic is the nicest way to run them. I don't want to work on chains. They were easier to winterize when using during cold weather

Added tennis balls to the end of the axles on the barrel train to help prevent grease from getting on kids climbing in and out.  Also been working on the towns pulling sled some. Added box containment rails and wating for speedometer distance meter setup to add . Didn't have any pictures of the sled work completed

Those screens to protect the tractor are a good idea.  Last winter I saw what happens when a vertical beater spreader shoots a 5" rock at the tractor.  The rock obliterated the back window and hit the operator right above the elbow.  Hit the operator so hard that he went in to get it checked out.  Doc told him if the rock had hit farther up the bone it would have broken it.  Can't help but think it would not have been good if the rock had hit the guy in the head.

We have broken windows but never been hurt yet  but I will say that it scares you when you get the window hit

I’ve built a few of those for guys in my area. Not for spreaders, but pull type disc mowers. Usually after they break their window

A guy I know, was brush hogging and a piece of wood went through the back glass of his 30-40 series deere. Hit him hard enough to knock him out. Said that he woke up with his foot holding the clutch in, tractor and mower running at pto speed and the tractor still in gear. He didn’t have a clue how long he was out.

I’ve never had anything come out the front of a rotary mower while traveling forward, backing up is dangerous. We had the back glass broken out of a tractor once when the cutter bar drive shaft shield was thrown off of our 1431 New Holland disc mower. In hindsight, it was lucky the operator wasn’t killed when that happened.

When we were kids we had Vicon Mocos we pulled with our 684 I remember being 80° out wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and leaning over the wheel as far as I could mowing some of our Fields with moles in them, cuz we have really Rocky ground, and those little Pebbles would come at you at 90 miles an hour and hit in the back of the head and as a teenager I thought my hood was a better protection than nothing.  Then we got bigger mowers and tractors and we built frames like you have there but with 3/8 plexiglass.  Which we have brokes a few of with rocks.  Then the Puma came and there isnt a good mount for the frame so bought the RockGuard stick on windows.  Work good, wish they stuck better, but they have nix in them too from rocks.

I've had some dirt in the fuel tank on my pulling 450. It would clean up ok for another tractor if I need so I put an aluminum tank on. I also gained more elevation difference between the tank and carburetor. I didn't want to mess with a fuel pump at this point.

Set up one of the old township plows for on the 621B loader . I'll have to put new hydraulic hoses on yet for the angle. Will try it before as it is. It's an old Valk plow by the looks of the back framing. I wanted something to hook up in a few minutes instead of the others we have that take more time to hook on
