WishIhada1466 Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 My little girl got her first horse today. She has been riding the Wifes old gelding. He is getting up in years and we are mostly retiring him. He is ok to ride around home in the pastures but we don't take him anywhere anymore. So today we went and picked up Copper a 10 year old sorrel gelding. He has had the same owners for the last 8 years and has been their kids horse most of the time. They wanted to go up to a more advanced and larger horse. He seems to be a real good fit for what we were looking for. Great temperament and fairly soft. They rode him in a bosal or halter most of the time. We stopped by the farriers house on the way home and he put shoes on the front so he is ready to roll. 5 Quote

sandhiller Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Big old boy didn't hardly have to work at all there. Love watching them get down and dig to start a heavy load. Amazing animals. And, thanks for finding and bringing the horse and mule thread back to the front page Lorenzo? 1 Quote

sandhiller Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Mother found this old pic the other day. Our first born, I told her I wanted to get him a horseback as soon as possible. She finally relented at 3 months.? He was a natural growing up. Has more ability and patience with young and bad horses than I ever had. 7 Quote

Finally couldn’t get her leg over the saddle. 3 Quote

WishIhada1466 Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 We finally took the time today to do some riding somewhere besides our county roads and pastures. It was our Daughter's first real trail riding being ponied. She did great. Stayed centered on the horse even when we traversed some pretty good hills. Her new horse did great as well. Looking forward to many more adventures. As always the pictures never show the steepness of the terrain well.  4 Quote

Nothing like spending time horseback. Memories that will last a life time. If more people could spend time horseback there would be less stress and strife in this world? 1 Quote
