WishIhada1466 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I figured since we had a cattle thread going we may as well have a horse and mule thread too. It seems we have enough folks on here who ride or used to ride horses for work or play that it would be worthwhile. So post your pictures and stories. I grew up pretty anti horse until I met my Wife and started riding her horse bareback. Then I bought a saddle and then a horse and it snowballed from there. I really enjoy it. We later lived on a ranch and feedlot in in Nebraska and I spent a fair amount of time horseback especially in the fall. I became a decent rider and ok roper. We moved back to Missouri and mostly just trail ride now. We did some team sorting for a little bit but it got too expensive. We currently have the ole man Dusty and he is 25. Wife has had him 18 years. Originally came from somewhere in Nebraska. Bigfoot is 8 and I got him when he was 4. He was supposed to be a bucking horse but wouldn't buck. He came from Thedford, Ne Eli is 7 and the Wife got him when he was 9 months. She broke him and trained him. Got him from around Fremont, Ne We have had a few others. Lightning, Shadow, Scout, Buster, Lilly, and Tulsa. Some of those were good horses and some were just ok. Tulsa was probably the best. I miss that horse. I sold him to buy some cattle. These pictures are in no particular order. Just as I found them. Some are in Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming. oldtanker Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 We had horses for a while. I learned one important thing with em.......when they buck you off? You can get revenge. You can shoot them and eat them........???? Rick 1 1 Quote
oldtanker Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I should add........I read somewhere that horse back riding is the the outdoor activity one can do with the opposite sex.......err gotta be politically correct......that one can do with a significant other that most often leads to getting romantic.......and you fella need all the help you can get in that department judging by the pictures and how ugly you really are.......maybe you should invite MTO out there so he can learn about them critters and then he can get one for his wife......who knows, even he may get lucky.......?
