How old do you have to be before buying a Buick?

Looking for another nicer vehicle to drive for no money. I looked at every traverse and Acadia on a 150 mile radius. Not interested in anything but that platform of gm vehicles. Also no white or black my wife says. So I found a used 2025 Buick enclave sport edition at a Chevy dealer in Bismarck nd. The price was ok when I talked to them last Saturday but the did their inventory adj again Friday so I kind of spoke for it now. It’s a 2025 with the turbo 4. Every option you can get on a  platform that year but the cooled, massaging seats . That is the avenir package. My question is now that I am old enough at some stores for senior discount can I legally drive a Buick? One thing the big gm dealers here do is the carfax online and that usually includes original window sticker. On this Buick in a year and half with 42000 miles( 27 per year) local bought local trade lost 21,000 dollars of value in 18 months. With a clear carfax no damage at all. That is huge but I don’t care because I will keep it or take my 15,000 loss on a couple years if I don’t like it.

I think you'll be ok! I drove a 91 LeSabre for a while when I was in my 30s and survived!

I forgot to mention I have two already. A 81 diesel regal and a 96 park avenue. The diesel regal is going to be started up again in a couple years. Drove the car in high school and college.

Grandpa (Mom's dad) always drove the biggest, nice est Buick car made.  

I was always told you want a four hole Buick.

81 Regal is a nice car. I had an 82 Cutlass Supreme 2 door diesel. I really liked that car.

I did it the other way around. First car was a 78 Buick lesabre. Grandma bought it new. After she passed in 97 my brother drove it for a short bit and then it sat till I got it going again in 01. Put new carpet in it and fixed it up as much as I could at 16. Still have the car but it’s been sitting in the garage for 6 years probably since it last ran.

Buick is but a shell of its former self. They don’t even build coupes or sedans for the U.S. any more. Just cross-over wanna-be SUVs.

My Dad always liked Buicks. I owned a 1973 Riviera as a collector car for a few years, with the big 455 CID V-8, 4 barrel carb, front bucket seats with center console shift. I sold the Rivi’ back in 2003 to help facilitate buying my 1980 IH 1086. 

Well I really didn’t try to sell the Rivi’ though- I wasn’t advertising it for sale. I had the car at a car show that summer and a guy who had the hots for it kept bugging me about it and offered me an amount I couldn’t refuse. Lol….

I wouldn’t hesitate to own a Buick for a second. Gramp always had Buicks, there was a Plymouth and an Olds mixed in, but he always came back to the Buick. 
I’m not in the market, but they have a wagon out there that looks really sharp.

A neighbor had a 77 or 78 lesabre. Black with red vinyl top. I put head gaskets in it years ago. He sold or traded it to local gas station owner. You see it sitting outside on street every now and then. One day I was putting gas in and asked the guy how his Buick ran? He said really good, I asked if original motor since he bought it. He said yes , then I told him I put head gaskets in it 30 years ago and had heads redone. It took a while for him to believe me.  The other neighbor had a same year Pontiac in same color scheme. They were nice looking cars.

I had a Buick Apollo in my 20's. Fun car! We recently sold Karla's 2015 Buick Enclave. It was an absolute horrible car! Always broken. Bad reviews on that platform and my mechanic thought I had lost my mind when I showed up with it. Maybe they changed things on the newer generation of this platform but I suggest you really do some research.....as in talk to the guys who wrench on them everyday.

Interesting tidbit about the Buick Apollo- It was based off the Chevy NOVA body design. And then Oldsmobile came out with their version of the design called the Omega. Pontiac also came out with their version called the Ventura.

Each successive letter in the name NOVA consisted of the first letter in the name of it and its its GM cousins: 

N was for Chevy Nova.    
O was for Olds Omega. 
V was for Pontiac Ventura.

You're never to young for a Buick.  I bought one in my early 40's.  I let my daughter take it to prom.  It's an 87 grand national.  Hardest part of it is finding someone who knows how to work on it without just replacing parts.

Back the first week of June I bought my first Buick, a 2019 Buick Enclave Avenir. 2 weeks after I bought the Buick, I turned 77. That is probably the best car I have ever owned, except for the 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger 340. The only issue I don't like is the engine shut off joke they added to the computer. Every time I pull up to a stop light, the engine dies.

I was going to add photos but with the forum problems I can’t. Any way I did buy the enclave yesterday. Moonstone grey metallic sport trim( mid level package) moonroof, power adjust package for seats, heads up display. The only options it doesn’t have is the avenir quilted and massaging seats and the super cruise self driving. I think it will work out well. I was looking for a car I can afford so this one was 21,000 off a new 26 list price at the Buick dealer across town. So in all reality in a year and half old car I probably saved 19,000 if there is any discount on the new 26s. Now just another five years of work to pay for this outfit. Then the turbo regal maybe pop up. I probably have to find a regular regal and do a ls swap to find my hot rod Buick.

My grandma always had Oldsmobile cars. First one I remember was a 77 2-door, grandma called it The Yellow Bird. Then an 84 Delta 88 than an 88 Delta 88 was her last one. That was the nicest riding car. She drove it till she passed away in 01. It was still in mint condition with 80K on it and spent every night she owned it in the garage.

Olds cutlass supremes were the car of choice in high school. Mid 70s through mid 80s versions when I graduated in 88. They were nice cruising cars. My dad bought a 79 cutlass for my sister in 1990. It had the Aztec interior sunroof and 260 v8. Dad had a 76 caprice, then a 91 Pontiac bonneville diesel. They were nice riding cars the caprice and bonneville.

My uncle had an 82 Bonneville diesel. He ended up putting a 455HO in it. I never rode in it when it had the diesel, but got to ride in it a few times with the HO in it!! He was all about power and speed!! He had a 79 half ton Chevy with a 455 in it too, got to drive it once and WOW!!
