What did you do with your Red tractor today?
Board Shortener Tom replied to DT Fan's topic in General Chat
I have this same problem with my 140 right now. I'm sure it's a fuel restriction because it runs fine with the choke pulled out half way. Went through this same issue a couple years back because I wasn't opening the fuel shut off all the way. Now it must be debris or something with the fuel line. -
5.9 Cummins in an 806 gasser
Board Shortener Tom replied to Chester5732's topic in Technical IH Talk
I cut a sheet metal tab and covered the dowel pin on the 5.9 Cummins in 3 of my Dodge trucks. There was a bolt nearby that I attached the sheet metal tab to. Never had any problems with any of them. -
You and @Gearclashare thinking in my wheelhouse. Logic is becoming a lost process these days. I recall a teacher I once had who taught logic. He said "Your friends will hate you after you take my class." I've lived a pretty lonely life since then. 😉😅

My gut tells me these are more than data centers. How did we survive so long without them? I think there may be some smoke and mirrors involved as to their future use.

Humans like to fight each other......for whatever reason. 🙄

That's cool!

I've taken the gas tanks out of a few machines I've owned and had them cleaned and coated. I've not had problems after that.

I once bought a M715 truck with a plastic fuel tank setting on the winch out front. It was held to the grill with a piece of twisted wire. It had an electric fuel pump on it because the mechanical one mounted to the engine had failed. 😅

How old do you have to be before buying a Buick?
Board Shortener Tom replied to dale560's topic in General Chat
I had a Buick Apollo in my 20's. Fun car! We recently sold Karla's 2015 Buick Enclave. It was an absolute horrible car! Always broken. Bad reviews on that platform and my mechanic thought I had lost my mind when I showed up with it. Maybe they changed things on the newer generation of this platform but I suggest you really do some research.....as in talk to the guys who wrench on them everyday. -
Saw some dandy fireballs due south just a few minutes ago. Never seen them like this before!🤩

I had a government teacher in high school that told us "Good looks don't last but good cookin'do." I never saw his wife but I bet she was a great cook! 😂

My first ticket was 3 months after I turned 16. There was a state boy a couple cars behind me at a traffic light. I was first at the light. It turned green, I mashed the pedal, burned some rubber and flew down main street of the small town I grew up in. I rounded a 90° turn without slowing down much and got the 72 Catalina a bit sideways. I proceeded to "warm the tires" like they do under caution in Napcar well over the 25 mph speed limit. I then blew a stop sign at the road I lived on. All of this was after dark, BTW. I noticed a car pull up close behind me so I mashed the pedal to the floor to pull away from whoever was tailing me......then the lights came on. I stopped right in front of my house. My parents weren't home yet. This cop was not happy. He didn't want to take me to jail so he was trying to figure out what to write me up for. Then my folks arrived home. My dad came out to the road as the officer was looking through his book to see what he could do to keep me from jail. Then my dad says "What's the matter officer? Don't you know the book??" I about crawled under the dash! Anyhow, I got "careless driving" and 2 points. I got a ticket every year after that for a decade.... always for speeding. I haven't had one now in a really long time. Got sobered up and slowed things down a bit. 😉

Those little skunk stripe cars would move on out!

Ah yes...straight pipe. They save lives according to some of the bikers I once knew. 😉

I caught 3 this morning sitting in the sunroom having coffee. I'm up around 4 am daily for no particular reason other than I like the quiet. I recall 4 am would have been more like the time I was heading to bed in my misspent youth. They say change is good. 😂

I think I saw this place on "Clarkson's Farm" when they visited it in the Netherlands. The show is interesting as is "This Farming Life." All I can say is that I would not want to be a farmer in the UK. The government, even at the lowest level, seems to want to put every farmer out of business there. Stuck in their own arrogant ways it appears to me. Of course, I guess that's just how government pretty much is anywhere....🙄😉

I nearly spit out my coffee when I read this! 😅

I have only met 2 of my neighbors since moving here and they are like minded. This area is full of people like this. In my previous places of residence I had the problems you described though. 😂 I'm assuming you have extended an invitation to move into your community if things go sideways where I'm at? I will get a "go bag" packed in case I need it! 🤣

When our used $30 fridge started to go 6 years after we got it we could not see spending even 4 figures for the junk available today. Got a cheap Chinese (I assume) Midea for around $600. If we get 5 years out of it I will be fine with that. I don't need bells and whistles on things. Just the basics with less stuff to fail. Our latest vehicle purchase has crank down windows and manual door locks. 2013 Jeep. 🤣

Well, what can you tell me about growing lentils?

Thanks for this. -
Well, what can you tell me about growing lentils?
Board Shortener Tom posted a topic in General Chat
I'm not a farmer but I dabble in it a little bit. I'm in zone 4b. This year I planted some really small patches of red wheat, oats, lentils and buckwheat to see what would grow here. It's clay soil. The wheat and oats are doing really well and I've literally done nothing to them other than plant the seed. The buckwheat never came up and the lentils looked to be doing really well at first. I did get out there and hoe the weeds from the lentil patches a couple of times but they are pretty small plants and some do have pods on them (I assume that's what you call them). The lentils just seemed to have become stunted. All of this is for our own use at home so I'm not overly concerned if something doesn't grow here. Just wondering if lentils need more love than I have given them or maybe I'm too far north for them to grow well? I don't plan on adding a bunch of chemicals to the soil here but am trying to keep things rotated around to improve/maintain the soil. Any words of wisdom from you experts? -
I have fabricated things from a photo by measuring the actual photo and scaling them up to whatever seemed to fit the project I had. It's never 100% accurate but with a bit of "swag" things have always worked out well. Just my 2 cents
