bitty Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Think it is not bad digging a sewer line from an enclosed cab on a mini excavator but by hand it would be much worse Quote

I filled dual 200 bushel spreader many times by hand with my brother 2 Quote

One thing for sure is the positive impact on the local economy, you just have to overlook the mountain of trash left behind by the tailgaters, the 300% increase in traffic accidents, the slobbering stupid obnoxious drunks that end up in every bar , restaurant and gas station, the arm chair coach that has to talk about what they should have done or shouldn't have done for the next five months and the inability to park and conduct any sort of regular business within 2 miles of the stadium . 1 Quote

I take it you are near Lincoln. I used to deliver to a Farmland/Cooks Hams years ago in Lincoln. I won't go out of my way to watch any sports. If they are on TV fine but if I have something else to do I will go. The one exception is the Olympics. I do enjoy them and will choose them over something else on TV,not that there is much good on TV anyways.. Rotten soybeans. They have to be the worst. I will stick my hand in sewage before sticking it in rotten slimy soybeans🤢🤮 1 Quote

twostepn2001 Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 My Dad once told me when l was a junior in high school "Boy, get yourself a good education or you'll wind up diggin' ditches for a livin'." Well, just a few years later l went to work for a electric company....digging ditches. That was in 1974. l was making $18.50 an hour, bought a house, had a son and driving a brand new pickup and a new motorcycle. Not bad for a ditch digger. 4 Quote

According to the USA government inflation calculator $18.50 in 1974 is the equivalent of $126.96 in 2025. I’d say that was darn good money. I’d quit what I’m doing right now to make that kind of money. Quote
