Cold here this morning.  -24 here on the hill, forecasted for -30’s in the valley.

Weather service just released the fact it was the coldest winter in 44 years, and it’s been fairly miserable. Hoping for a quick spring,

You guys certainly have had a cold winter. I don’t know how you do it. Spring is definitely on it’s way here in SE Ind. A sunny morning and 40. Supposed to hit 55. Colder tomorrow and the weekend.

This winter has been difficult, and freaking cold.   Made a point of listening to the NOAA weather broadcast this morning, 10,000+ degree days since July 1st.  And it is below zero and we needed 80 some degree days yesterday.  Maybe it’s time to strap a snow shovel on the front of the old ford and drive south until someone asks what I have on the front of the truck.

the furnace just kicked on, sigh

This winter for us was full of temp swings. Was hard to get used to any one temperature as it was constantly changing. Never broke -40 this winter but came close a few times. Usually it would last 3-5 days and then we’d be back in a thawing cycle again.  Snowed here again and they’re calling for up to 6 inches this weekend so sledding season may not be quite over yet.

Well I put a new weather station up this year, still working on it.  Today is 17 below. Guess march has came in like a lion. Maybe spring will be fast approaching?

If you have weather underground my station is KAKFAIRB180

Type that in and you can see a lot of weather here, also when the remaining parts arrive it will show more on the sun.  Meanwhile we have passed 11,000 degree days on our way to a record cold year, like one of the coldest winters in the last 40 years and if this does not stop maybe coldest ever recorded.  And we have o er 3 feet of snow on the ground at the house

Hey now, don't crush a mans hope

I think the weather guy is messing with me or just playing the odds, he keeps claiming its going to be warmer in about 10 days, and sooner or later the prick will be right, 10 days ago he said today was going to be a low of 2 above, it was 20 below at the house, but a couple co-workers who live in colder areas saw 34 below this morning. now he says weekend after next is going to be above freezing for a high and only 15 above for a low, lets see

We are going to have frost for a LONG time, and the river and lake have a bit of ice on them

I'm sorry   AK...but those facts of yours just  don't fit the global    warming  .narrative...….

In this little island on which  I live.....we are having school kids  going on strike  for goodness sake...….to exhort the Socialist Govt  to stop Global warming/  Shut down our oil reserves...….and the  real game breaker......Get rid of the Diary  Industry...…..These  little pricks are marching   in the main City...just does your head in...….defies rational   belief..

The Socialist  Govt main attributes are summed up nicely by a quote from Groucho Marx.....seen recently  on the latest joke forum here.....I just wonder of the intellectual  capacity of the "teachers" in our little country...…..never mind the current Govt...sigh

..Our national anthem  starts with ……."God defend New Zealand "......that is what it is going to take......

We just got hit the last few days by a winter storm. Which I guess is not all that uncommon for here, but when it has felt like spring for a few weeks it's sure hard to take lol. And of coarse when its cold and a foot of fresh snow on the ground the cows decide they should do synchronized calving.......

Oh well we ain't safe till after May long lol. Don't put the snow shovels away yet

Starting to turn towards spring finally.  We have been looking at several projects and maintenance items for this year.  We need to prioritize and plan what we are going to do, what we want to spend money on, and what is going to change with the virus. 2020 is really going to be a year that we look back on.  I know that in the years to come elders will be sitting at tables drinking coffee and talking of how life was before 2020, or where they were, or who knows what about the year 2020.

Anyway, I started getting ready for spring by getting my bee hives ready

my oldest boy thinks we got carried away.  Got to love the honey tho, and it’s a long way to harvest.

since it was nearly 50* above and sunny I took the 460 out and cleared some slush, hard pack, and got some color showing for things to burn off.  We should be at 15 hours of daylight by next week.  Come on spring, it’s been a long winter

I also got a fuel sending unit and gauge, maybe I can get away from using a stick all the time, we are moving up in the world

Yeah, brought the seat in off the tractor yesterday morning.  10 hours later and to much patience from my wife I need more parts, have the wrong parts, and it’s not done.  It kicked my butt.  Good grief.  At one point I had built a press out of all thread to try and get one of the shafts out.  Even then it took a torch and things glowing red hot while I was hammering on it with the impact gun, dang

Got up for a Saturday morning.  Got my coffee, let the cats out, checked the RP forums. Got up for a second cup, and went to let the cats back in which is normal for them when it is below freezing.  They are looking at something off the deck and they are focused.  Hmm

I walk out and a red fox trots out of the yard right next to the chicken coop.  Maybe 20 foot from me. No hurry, looks over her shoulder to watch me, stops at the power pole and squats.  Sigh. I think she will be back and that means problems

Heard on the radio. Atlanta airport is no longer the busiest airport in the world. Today the busiest airport in the world is Anchorage Alaska.

Really?  Guess I should check the news.

they fly a lot of cargo over the top, I wonder if that’s it?

for reference,  we set a world record in 2016 with 4,000 and change.  There is a yellow layer of dust on everything and my son isn’t enjoying it

Working on a few chores today.  Finishing up odd projects and getting ready to break ground for a new garage next to the house.  Got the new radiator in the flatbed so it’s on line for the season, ok.

Well I went over to get the 460 checked out, and I found a flat tire, crap.  Put some air to it and it spits calcium out the side.  Not good. Guess I just bought a new set of tires, but the new seat sure looks good.

so while I reflect on how I want to do the tire swap I do the checks and fire both the Super C and 230 up.  Nice to drive them around a bit.

so, we are building a small garage this year. And doing about 300 other things

the tires on the 460 finally went so it’s time for change out, going to be working on it in my spare time.  Going to blast and paint the rims, and not put calcium back in the new tubes.  I won’t know how to act with a match set of tires
