poor farmer/logger Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 That’s a beautiful drive that I’d like to make one day. I’ve beem up as far as fort St. John but that’s it. Which way you coming up from Minot? Hope you have a safe trip. It’s to bad you have to do it through this covid stuff, takes some of the fun out of it for sure. My cousin just came up from Florida she’s from here originally and came back to help look after her dad. They had to bring a camper in for her to stay in for her 2 week quarantine. Heard there were two people arrested in Ontario that were from Florida. They weren’t self quarantining. Quote

So wife packs here up and heads for the farm. Calls me, and my adventure begins Yesterday I flew in to Minnesota, today I put the wife, daughter, baby, and youngest boy on the plane back to Alaska. Later this week I am loading the car the wife picked up and driving to Alaska. Yeah, wonderful timing, thank goodness Alaskan going home are considered essential. So there will be pictures and me driveling Safe travel to all! Quote

They are getting pretty strict on the quarantine and COVID. I called the border people, and will be limited on what I am allowed to do. When ever possible I need to buy gas at the pump, get food from a drive in, and so on. I have been requested to bring enough food so I do not need to shop, informed we are not allowed to recreate at all (travel thru and keep to myself) and and self quarantine in my car basically. yeah, this ought to be a interesting trip 1 Quote

Sledgehammer Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Stay safe for sure. Lots of extra junk to deal with right now. Good luck. Quote
NY1468 Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Probably won’t be as fun as it could have been, but sounds like a lot of interesting scenery on the way. Have a safe trip! Quote
AKwelder Posted July 16, 2020 Author Posted July 16, 2020 thank you all. Hanging around with my parents a couple days before heading north. and shipping weights while I figure which parts I can squeeze in the car with all my kids crap Quote
poor farmer/logger Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 There’s lots of crazies out there so stay safe. Police in Saskatoon were asking people to quit reporting out of province license plates. Was talk of people vandalizing plates from the us as well. This has really brought out the crazy in some people. Its a shame you’ll only be a 120 miles from me but I don’t think I’ll be able to get away from work. Been trying to get away for a quad ride and haven’t even managed that yet lol. Have a safe trip message me if you have any trouble is Sask and I can help what I can. Quote

Yeah, it is just a bad time to visit. And I sure don’t make this run very often, but this is the third time and I already have another trip coming in a few years, so who knows. Maybe we can catch up then 1 Quote

poor farmer/logger Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Good to hear you’re back safe and sound. That’s a long haul to do in a short time. Certainly takes some of the fun out of it. Quote

Since I was moving and focused (And COVID) I didn’t do much tourist or fun stuff, just a lot of windshield 1 Quote
RichardDSalyer Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Return home just in time for the earthquake. How far from you was the quake? Quote

Just saw it on the net, I never noticed it, but it may have been over 800 miles away. From what I saw it was way south and out to sea and that’s over a 500 mile drive. Heck it might have been closer to Troy than me. I do see they activated the Tsunami warning network, yikes 1 Quote
