IH 1486. I saw that 14’ on display there years ago. Not sure why it would have needed repainting?

I took some pics of it on display in the Smithsonian. But my ex wife kept all our pictures and never shared them with me after the Big D.

Off this topic, but I think my wife and I were near your old stomping grounds a couple weeks ago, in Lambertville to a small zoo with 1st grade field trip with our granddaughters class. Very nice area.

I remember seeing that 14 on display in 1987.  Looked good then!

Very cool mrfred54. Yep, Lambertville was just a few minutes drive away from us, in Bedford Township. Ottawa Lake was our town of address, in Whiteford Township.

Our farm was just east of US 23, near Exit 5.

Old thread:

I think that 1486 with the big lugs is in Lubbock Texas, reading though that thread.

Yea I was under the impression then that then 1486 in Lubbock was the original. I saw it in November 2023. The original is tucked in the Smithsonian. Would be neat to see.

This tractor was sold up here in 2024. The inside tires on back appeared to be the 20.8 bf Goodrich it came new with. I know the right side front tire looked the same as when I put it on there in 1985 and I am positive the left side front was the same one on the tractor when it left in 1985. My dad bought it new and it got sold in 1985 and popped back up at a consignment sale 39 years later with 2500 more hours and a replaced engine. Plus a rattle can redo. The bad picture is the tractor around 1983 or so. The bf Goodrich on the band duals in later pics are a suprise. Dad kept the original dual rims  and tires. Just suprising those tires would make it almost 50 years.
