Missing members

Definitely one of the ones very knowledgeable of letter series tractors that I have appreciated his input on things that I have researched

I don't check in here very often anymore. Seems like once old binder guy left it just wasn't the same. Or maybe I just lost interest in IH. 

I often see people on the forums commenting on how they don't "do social media" almost wearing it like a badge. I gave up trying to convince them how good it has been for me. I definitely spend a lot of time on fb and youtube. Recently FB has become inundated with A.I. crap which is spoiling the experience. All the false images of machinery and vehicles that never existed on fake pages created by bots or something.. 

Facebook marketplace has been all good for me. Just lucky? Maybe but the sellers were legit and the deals and equipment were good. The history pages, the good ones, are a big interest for me and I've met some good people on there. Even sold some memorabilia to collectors.

I think everyone has their own individual experiences of social media, what's great for one doesnt necessarily suit others, and as you pointed out, our interests can change. There is no right or wrong. 

I also think AI is taking over a lot of things and it is something we will eventually have to get used to. We can only hope it starts being a little more anatomically correct and stops creating 13 fingered humans, dogs with human feet... and vehicles that dont exist 😆 but Dewalt mustard dispensers & Milwaukee ketchup dispensers are a bonus! Swings and roundabouts!

I'm not on Farcebook. I don't spend the time here I used to buy thats just because I'm busier with work and life at the moment. I still check in every day and try to keep up with happenings. I have met many people here over the years and am proud to call a lot of them friends.

I check in often here. Fedbook only for market place and that's sketchy at best. Its a shame that's where most local stuff gets posted for sale anymore. But anyway I like this site because you can learn so much about IH and repairing them .Also if you have questions about any other brand there's probably someone that knows something to help you.The other thing is we talk about life in general, farm related and not farm related.

Excellent group of people overall to be associated with.

Would agree that a lot of former forum members on here are over on FB anymore...which is good and bad all at the same time. The FB groups move a lot more material in a shorter time frame, but you sure have to sort the wheat from the chaff over there. Lots of bad information, disinformation, "fake news" if you want to call it that. Sometimes it takes some serious digging to find the correct info....and by the time you find it, the post is over 3 days old...more or less on the back burner of the FB group. Thats why I don't participate as much over on NagTalk like I used to. Too many times, by the time I find the correct info, its over on page 3 or more, so you don't know if the OP sees your info or not. I guess I like this forum better where its easy to bring an old post back to the top with new information you just discovered and hopefully encourage some more discussion on the matter.

As far as the YT mechanics, there are some good ones and bad ones just like any other profession that has YT channels. While he's a JD tech, I watch ZK Mastertech almost weekly and wish I had the time to do a show like his, but that takes a lot of time, too. He just finished up a project where he had to completely disassemble the rear differential/axle assembly on a John Deere 640 RX Quadtrac. Its interesting to see just how different the Deere's axle setup is compared to a CaseIH/Steiger Quadtrac.

I went through a Quadtrac front axle on a 500 Quadtrac last year and took a lot of pictures while doing the job...my intention was to post that job in the "projects" page on RPF, but have never posted them here. I've got other pictures I can post there as well if anyone wants. It would be neat just to show how Deere and CaseIH approach their Quadtracs in different manners as far as axle design is concerned.

I'm not opposed to social media but I've had bad experiences with Facebook.

I was on there many years ago. I had friends and family that if I don't 'friend' , I'm considered a bad person. Some of them have conversations, etc that I don't want to be part of. It was just a big hassle for me and I left the platform. IF I'm not active there, I'm not snubbing them and they don't care. It has just made my life easier not being on Facebook.

I post of Instagram some but it's getting so cluttered with crap that I'm backing off there too.

I watch YouTube some. Have a friend who almost makes a living from his  YouTube channels. Mostly gun related stuff. He works it pretty hard with a couple high quality videos every week.
