The rut is on here full swing. Bucks running everywhere. One even ran in to the side of a person's car yesterday morning as he was driving down the highway. Took out his pass door and fender. One buck I know for sure took a dirt knap yesterday, my son took this one

Saw a nice deer tonight. It never presented a shot (archery) and passed about 30yds north of me. We are trying to manage this property (our own private ground) and I really want to let him go another year.

Now look who has a nice buck 😁. Good breeding stock right there. I attribute our nice bucks to just that, let them "breed", and years down the road, be plenty of of nice bucks, problem is, some people won't let them get mature to reach their full potential. Good luck, and I support your plan

Firearm opener is today for us. It's been pouring rain so to the ground blind I went.  Not ideal but it is dry. Saw several early despite the rain. Everything was 140+yds away and the only buck I saw couldn't be positively ID'd in the time I had to look him over walking away at 160+ yds. Maybe he will come back later. Until then, I just get to enjoy Gods scenery.

A neighbor about 1.5 miles away sent me these pics of my deer. This was two days before I got him. He had been living over there and came here for the ladies I'd say....
