No.....you will loose only the oil in the filter housing when changing. If you can't remember the last ALL of the hydraulic oil was changed.....now would be a good time to do this.

the VI501 decal bag is from Maple-Hunter.....good repros but not 100% IH accurate.

Current CIH filter part numbers are A184774...Final and 84565905....Primary.

They didn't even use IH decals.....makes you wonder what else was short-cutted.......😬

Rebuild/reblade the 490 or upgrade to a 496. Stay away from 39XX like Jim says.......they are the MXM's of tillage tools....

compared to the alternative (open station)...the factory cab is great!!

Drain both pans.....FORD had this type of oil pan in the 1980's with thier compact tractors. A pretty common setup.

Ditch the adapters and covert the block to ISO. You will have less coupler issues.

I have been asked to make them/include them in my chassis decal sets but passed.... Liability is the driving factor. If they were put on a questionable tank and something happpened...the lawyers will find you.

Those HYDRO decals are 100,000,000% homemade/custom.

I call it experience.....having started in the Service Dept before moving to Parts Dept makes a huge difference!! So sad others couldn't/wouldn't find it. I don't think IH could have made it any more obvious to find in the book!!!

Steiner tractor sells them as does Pilot Knob Parts of Galena, IL. Another good source of them is NAPA.

The IH/CaseIH part numbers are (usually) pretty fool proof to deal with. The New Holland part numbers are not so much now and the FORD part numbers are the WORST!! If you are 1 digit off with a Ford number...you might get a grille for an Edsel and not a fan belt for the TW35....😄

The seal is IH # 67914C1....CIH has plenty of them on hand to order.

When I first found the 5488 stored in Racine in 1987...the current tires (non Rice/Cane) were fitted on it. I believe they were switched before it ever left the factory. I think they used up what ever tires they had on hand to get it built (and other tractors there) finished and out the door, later swapping them for less $$$ tires. When CIH let me "borrow" the Final 5488 for the 1993 Red Power Roundup...(its first ever public display!!!) I put the Chrome stack in a Thomure Mfg box for safe storage during shipping.... Here's a piccy of what Neal Stone and I took to MO....1-owner IH 826 gold demo.......I-660 Gas...Final 5488...Oldest known Farmall Regular sn#293.... We put the 5488 and regular together in the IH Specialty Tent (Darrel Darst's idea) along with Tracto the IH robot, the first IH no-till planter and a special IH Scout. It made for a great display that I'm still reminded of...

Farmall had an employee (Paul Haps) who shot the piccy of the final farmall that everyone has seen. During his time working there, Paul took LOTS of photos inside the plant of people and the processes there. Paul ran a photo studio after Farmall closed. I was told he had a large box (12x12x12) of NEGATIVES.....just negatives....NOT prints. Many, many years later Paul's secretary was cleaning the office and (you guessed right) tossed everything by accident.

Your local CIH dealers are Ritchies (Lancaster, Cobb or Darlington) or try Scott Implement (NH) south of town at the old Zinc Mine on Hwy 80. Both of them can get the OEM paint for you. CIH did NOT just change suppliers..Valspar/Diamond Vogel/Sherwyn Williams paint have been the suppliers for years.

has the sealing ring disintegrated? It could be the cause...IH # 1252473C1.

I've sold dozens of SRC engines with only 1 failure on a lone cylinder head over 15 years ago. They have a 2 year no hour limit warranty on engines and components....so they cant be junk. No one else that I can find offers that on a comparable engine or components. If your engine requires ANY machine work, (head, camshaft, cylinder counterbores, ect.) you will quickly be upside down in it $$$$ vs using a reman unit.
