They both are Belgian. Her sister is also breed and is a little behind.

We completed yet another trip out west with our horses. We had a blast. My daughter just turned 7 before we left. Kind of figured she would get tired of camping and riding after the first couple of days but I was mistaken. She had a blast and even did some leading on easier stretches of trail. We rode 3 days out of Marvine Creek and 2 days out of Trappers Lake. All of this was in the Flattops Wilderness between Meeker and Yampa Colorado. Totaled 64 miles of riding. Now we are headed back to hot and humid Missouri.

So i went to my youngest daughters horse show today - mind you my oldest daughter n I now 29 started off doing fun shows at local county arenas - this was a whole new world to me i tried my best to acclimate but i found myself nothing but humbled as i tried to pick up on what these judges were looking for - complete fail for me - all i ever did was used a horse for get it done or sport type stuff on the horse - not a bit of bling in my bones - then i got to watch this stuff today

Ive had driving horses - singles n doubles - gated - quarters but mostl for rodeo this was so different

I love using horses and anything that gives kids and horses something to do together is great.

But, I think I would feel very out of place at a horse show like that.

If I was to show up at an event like that, it wouldn't take long before someone would hand me a pitchfork and wheelbarrow and say "stalls are thataway old man"😂🤠

I enjoy riding a good cow pony, and I think I am pretty decent, but I watched my sister in law do dressage and I was blown away by the whole thing.

they were doing english stuff today i was lost and schooled again............if there was any question this took place in the united states of america, when they did the national anthem, i wasnt sure which flag i was supposed to look at 😉

there were lots of wheelbarrows and forks and pooper scoopers, they even had a class for ranch dogs you parade around teh arena, you are allowed to have your dog do one trick, i never realized ranch dogs could be corgis, chiwawas ( sp chk ), beagle, some kind of greyhound looking thing, poodle, bulldog, i think its grown a lot since i was a kid regarding variety LOL

that dressage thing is crazy, my daughter had a friend who did that and she still does, she goes to florida and trains in the winter and is here in MO and trains/rides for people. That stuff is $$$$$ from the exposure Ive had to it. What I will say after talking to people and watching an 80+ y.o lady show/win. IF you can afford a $50K horse you will win like the 80+ y/o lady did. Not knocking her ability but you can tell an elcheapo horse and a more $$ horse for sure. 

I kind of like the rodeo stuff, you can get a 1000 horse and be competetive.

Or you spend the big bucks and buy yourself a win. 
 

Trish was fairly competitive with my old grey horse, in some hunter/jumper class. The dressage gets expensive in a hurry, depending on the class. I have had some well trained horses, but that gaited stuff is something else. 
I have always wanted my horses to stand still. They want theirs to dance and prance.

very beautiful/amazing country, so glad people can do that and involve their kids and make memories - we could hardly ever agree on what to do for vacations so just usually visited family in other states and dabbled in the attractions coming/going - what an great trip that looked like - did you have any issues with any of your animals not wanting to go across things or walk in certain areas, ive had a couple that say no way im not going across that ditch or creek or whatever LOL had to help them figure it out

Thanks. It was a great trip. Didn't really have to many issues crossing anything. Our horses have seen alot as far as terrain is concerned. Had to go off trail and weave through a bunch of dead fall in one area. Daughters horse is pretty short and had some trouble getting over a few larger downed trees. Some of the snow drifts we had to cross were 3-4 feet deep and were a little harder for her horse as well.
