Illini986 Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 I need to get a manual for a tractor I recently bought. The original IH manual is long gone and I'd like to get a good copy. Are the reprints from CaseIH worth looking into? Should I look elsewhere? This'll be for a 786. Quote
oleman Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 The local CIH dealer had all the operators guides but I got the repair manuals from Jensales, BUT ebay many times has someone with an original manual and not a poor copy. The CIH parts manual, free for downloading at CIH is a perfect way to get exploded parts manuals. Quote
Matt Kirsch Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 CaseIH reprint manuals have always been high quality glue bound books in my experience. Jensales on the other hand, not so much. Their reprints are cheap finger-bound photocopies of the originals. Check with Binder Books. I don't know if they go that new, but their manuals are top-notch reproductions. Quote
Illini986 Posted March 20, 2025 Author Posted March 20, 2025 Thanks guys. I've seen what Jensales offers and have never been impressed. 1 Quote

John Rowehl Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 I’m happy with what I got from Peaceful Creek. Not real happy with what I got from ASAP. Quote
12_Guy Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 If you want an original contact Mike Becker -The Paper Farmer. He is a great guy to deal with and reasonable. Quote
cedar farm Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 Peaceful Creek. I don't remember which manual it was, brand, service or OM, but it was missing a few pages. I called them and it turns out his original was missing those pages. He went out and bought another original and sent me a new copy. That is excellent customer service! Quote
Jeff-C-IL Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 Also a kudos for Peaceful Creek. Next best to a original stored inside a file cabinet and never opened. Quote
Absent Minded Farmer Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 Ordering from CaseIH will be your cheapest & most direct option, for the most part. All their pricing is figured by a per-pages-scanned rate. So, a 500 pp parts catalog is going to cost more there than say, eBay. Whereas a 30 pp operators manual will be cheaper through CaseIH, as a .pdf, then most anywhere. However, you have the best chance of getting a manual with clear illustrations & print if you look for an original NOS or used one. Mike Quote

Might help others ...? As a rule even thru the stealer $2-400 per (100p+) manual (where asap gets the idea) NLA or dont want to be bothered. 20 hours ago, cedar farm said: He went out and bought another original and sent me a new copy. He has been carrying the water,to fill the gap left from Cindy/Scotts .sad need to sell. Quote

Here's a link to the Case IH Document Management Center. Unless you are looking for something new, just use the sidebar search on the left. Case IH ver. Of The DMC Retail Site.... There's also a separate search page for NH & Case Construction. Mike Quote

Mike Thank you requires a (free) account? How does it get pinned some where for others to click quick? If it truly is better than $200 asap/scambay etc? Quote
