Pulled the ole L 9000 Ferd in the shop last Saturday to do some bondo on the hood and it turned in to a major repaint.  All this was done in 7 days start to finish (really only 6, didn't touch it on Thursday waiting for the paint to cure a little bit0.  Only out of pocket money spent was $10 for CIH red paint (normally $60 but had $50 of red zone reward points to use), pint of hardener $23, 4 tack clothes $4, and about $10 worth of new hardware.  $47 total out of pocket.  Between me and my part time helper around 50 hours labor and shop time.  5aa462e8335a3_paintredford5.JPG.726510a48e19f5251b192671faec8353.JPG5aa462eae0633_repaintredford6.JPG.47df0aa17881f384934392810ab7cc9f.JPG5aa462e1b1f23_paintredford2.JPG.c00b53967af9235fb3e52c8d2db93181.JPG5aa462e96d733_paintredford.JPG.42ed61d111d76e86491e07634cfefa03.JPG5aa462e3ac887_paintredford3.JPG.b1e6268505fe61118f11173d45646467.JPG5aa462e67d454_paintredford4.JPG.d1bc542f9b339e2ad79c39e247887617.JPG

Everything else used, I had in stock, like masking materials, sand paper, thinner and bumper and wheel paint.  I got a little over spray on the roof and a few runs but looks great at 20 feet.  So my helper has dubbed it a 50 foot with anti skid, paint job.  Good enough for who it is for!  Truck only gets about $1500 miles per year and has around 900,000 on it.  Lot of materials left, so we are thinking about painting the green Mack red after crops are planted, so stay tuned and will get it on here when that happens.  Only change we will make is get my paint buddy to come shoot it when we have it ready.  No anti skid paint on it!

Looks great love them older trucks. I used to own a International Emeryville years ago wish now I kept it and restored it. Was driving a 1984 Pete cabover 352 model with a 3406 B Cat sure enjoyed that ride

I have a L9000 and the drivers seat almost hits the stearing wheel. Very uncomfortable to drive. Can you take a picture of your seat? If at all possible im just wondering if i can find a better seat.

I have 2 l8000 sa  dump trucks, same seats I'm sure as the 9000s. One 89, one 94, one has air ride seat, other spring adjust, one auto, one 5 speed, I find the seats ok, not my overstuffed recliner in no means, but ok for a 10 hour day. The 94 seat I swapped with the pass side as it is like new and not near as worn

I'm a fairly big guy and the seat will not fit anyone bigger than me.  Neighbor has one and he put in a smaller steering wheel.
