Yeah, nobody ever accused an AC guy of being snobby like some of the other colors out there. You know the one... it starts with J and/or lots of ether, and ends with Deere and hard feelings.

Overall sales and regional sales were completely different. Even when green outsold red over all (noted above) there were pockets of Massey, Oliver, MM, and AC domination. It depended on dealership location and service to an extent. I would say Orange and Red outsold Green here in the 70's. We had (still have) all three dealers in town. No AC dealer but they still service and sell lots of parts for the pumpkins. They are NH/Massey now. JD has a good showing locally now and the Red dealer still does a fair amount of business. Lots of NH tractors out there in this area now but the Massey's have never really taken hold.

There was a place advertised in RP mag a few years ago. Could be the same guy. I've never have work done by him personally.

We still have the 1086 Grandpa bought new. Delivered March 14, 1979 but serial # denotes it as a 78' model tractor. It came from the factory with 8-track and 20.8's. It had the soft rear end gears that were replaced early on at the dealership. Grandpa said there were no factory duals available so it has worn white DMI duals its entire life and a full set of flame cut weights. It pulled a 12 row Kinzie planter for several years for my uncle before the planter was upgraded. Currently around 4300 hrs wearing the original BFG tires it came with new (to the best of my knowledge)

Sounds like a nice haul.

We have several tress. Pick them, grind them down to pulp and use the pulp for deserts. The taste seems to be love it or hate it for most people. It's a special treat around our place.

Well, if they say they are working on it I have to take them at their word. I'm not a computer person who can fix such things. I don't understand how that all works (or doesn't) I've been here since 2014 and have never seen issues like this. Several have been here longer than I have but I'm going to guess that not many people have posted the amount of pictures here that I have. I really miss being able to do that and I hope the issue can be worked out and things restored the way they were. It is a big part of what makes this place special and a really big part of keeping folks involved in this site and the hobby in general. I just hope things get resolved soon before people lose interest in the site because of it. I can't fix it and I can't push anything to be done faster. I guess we take a number and wait....

The peaker units are made to come on and off quickly. When the powers that be decide to run regular units like a peaker unit it makes a lot more work on the power generation side of things. Running a primary unit as a peaker is like running your car with the choke on all the time. The "data centers" require a LOT of power and I'm sure there is more to it than the public is being told. The "owning" of the data storage seems a bit odd to me. If someone else owns your data, is it yours?

They are having a "gathering of the 190's" according to the website. That is most likely just AC enthusiasts trying to fill the place which is fine. Last year was the 1206's. The show before was the D21's.

I've done gasoline and a match. Most recently I got stung while unknowingly standing on the entrance hole. I went back 2 hours later with a new can of good wasp spray in each hand and went in blazing. Killed the entire nest all at once and not one got away. By the next day some critter had dug up the nest. They aren't heavy enough to set off land mines. Dynamite is really hard to get. Lava isn't readily transportable. It's getting harder and harder to have fun now a days...

Muzzleloaders are notoriously hard on scopes. Something about the recoil is different vs a centerfire rifle. Be sure to get solid steel scope bases and I would suggest steel rings over aluminum. You get what you pay for in mounts/rings. I've had 3 different scopes on my ML in the last 15 years and none of them were entry level. I like a Burris Scope and they have a very good warranty. There are many other quality makers like Leupold, Vortex, etc... but Burris is my go-to personally. Real people answer the phone there. They could probably give you suggestions on models also.
