That sounds about right. I have a few of those also. I don't collect vises but I like the older ones because I feel they are generally higher quality than newer production. I take them apart, fix what is broken and put them back into working order. I've sold a few to friends but just cover my input costs mostly. It's not a business of any kind.

I've got a few Reed vises. Larger is better for value but they can be $30 or several hundred depending on size and condition. Still has to be someone interested. Hard to ship and the amount of vise collectors is small. Most won't pay hundreds of dollars for a vise. How about a few pictures of yours. The "1909" may be a patent date. Seems all over the board. Land auction here in the last two weeks sold 1277ac. This is mostly clay loam. Normal corn yields 160ish if it gets rain. Prices ranged from $4700/ac to $14,200/ac over 21 parcels.

When my buddy got married we found our way in their house and froze all her underwear into a 1' cube of solid ice. The night before I got back from my honeymoon my friends had a party at my house. Burned every stick of firewood I had. I had a little ford focus with a ton of miles on it that I drove to work in and I never found it until a day after I got home. They picked it up with the loader tractor and move it behind the barns 😂 I know it's a little off topic but that's what this made me think of.

Not even gonna steal, putting all the socks in the toilet tank and unscrewing the bathroom light bulbs 1/2 turn.

I would think 3-4, 2" wide, 10K straps over the top would hold It fine. Get them all snug but don't use the trucker bar when pinching down on them.

So you cannot get the volume of corn you desire in 40" rows due to space considerations? I follow better now. I'm sure a finger pickup would do you a nice job if you can make the spacing work. I can't tell you for sure if that's possible because I don't have one to try. Mine has the good openers and press wheels but still has plates which you want to steer away from if possible.

My Grandpa talked about 36' also. Said they hung ropes between the trees in the yard and laid their mattresses on the ropes hoping for some sort of breeze at night. He lived to be just shy of 92 and never owned a home with air conditioning in it.

This sounds goofy but I know someone who did it. Could you reconfigure your toolbar and have one row outside your tire and one row directly behind the drawbar. It would offset basically. I used to spray 4 row chemical trials with a 4-wheeler that was set up this way due to the width of the machine also. You would straddle the second row and spray row one on the left and rows 3/4 on the right. I think your compact could handle that.
