Welding in the wind sucks, but they won't risk it here, the weld will have all kinds of testing to make sure it is perfect. Therefore it will have a temporary tent build from reinforced plastic sheeting. My biggest concern is how the safety guy gets when we use the crane. And the wind chill Oh and come to think of it trying to keep the truck on the road Quote
AKwelder Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 My son had surgury yesterday in Minnesota, all went well. My wife took both boys to the mall of America aquarium as a reward. It turns out you can pet a stingray. They like it, kind of like a puppy. Who knew. Quote
AKwelder Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 Up with the crew getting breakfast, then having a safety meeting at the lodge. Only open place left is the bar. So at the end of the day it sounds wrong/old school when I say "See you at the safety meeting in the bar" Quote
new guy Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 The end of the day not so bad. See you at the bar for breakfast may raise a few eyebrows...... Quote

AKwelder Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Up with the crew getting breakfast, then having a safety meeting at the lodge. Only open place left is the bar. So at the end of the day it sounds wrong/old school when I say "See you at the safety meeting in the bar" Most of our old 'safety meetings" would turn into a huge complain session, and the safe-driving award, or employee appreciation would wind up in a fight, or getting extremely wasted from the free bar. The best remembered one was where I showed up in a leisure suit, and the lady I brought along had a evening dress with a REALLY plunging neckline. Nothing like a balloon smuggler to derail things You got a picture of you in that leisure suit ? Quote
AKwelder Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 I could not make this up if I wanted Sitting at the airport gate in Fairbanks I see a gent beside me, he has a hat that is from the same company I work for, I say "I like your hat" And away we go he was in the same work I do, where am I going? Why? Oh he has a Farmall, why don't you come by and give me an offer on it Sooooooo. I think I just bought a super A on my way to see Tony and Troy. Now who is going explain this to the misses? Quote
