The main and dash harnesses from Porch are $ 450. Those 2 will get you 95% fixed. IDK where anyone is getting the $1200 figure from. Even buying them from CNH is only $820. The more you REALLY look into them, the worse they are. No sense to patch them at all.

The 1/8 scale toys made by Scale Models are SAND CAST aluminum (which gives a "rough" finish)EXCEPT for the 66 series. Those are DIE CAST so they have a smooth finish. Yes the 1/8 scales are spendy, but many of them have greatly increased in value. IIRC...the last of the sand cast 1/8 scale IH's was made almost 20 years ago....

THAT piccy was posted by ME..... In fact there will be (in the near future) a whole series of books coming that cover the tractors IH was developing in the 1950-60-70's. This is the new "Innovation Hinsdale Collection" (IHC) book series from 1831 press. Pricing and order info will be posted to the website later this Summer.... www.1831press.com These books will show you (in ORIGINAL IH taken photos...from IH's Engineering Center in Hinsdale, IL) what IH was creating. There are some VERY unique tractors that IH never brought to production that will be included too. Leading the list of IHC books is the 06 series tractors (606-706-806-1206) book due out late this Summer. Other tractor series will follow, about 1 every year.....

According to IH, they made the following..... 7388............3 made 7588..............2 made 7788...............3 made Supposedly enough spare parts exist to build 1 or 2 more.....

For those who collect IH toys......the Toy Famer is having the IH 7788 made in toy form. Both 1/32nd and 1/64th scales for the 2025 National Farm Toy Show. Here behind the Cheddar Curtain....EVERY county used to have a pair of Oshkosh or (sometimes) FWD vee plow with wings. Now with the lack of big snows, most Counties are selling them off now. Pretty rare to find graders used in snow here. Most plows are tandem dumps with 1 way blade and belly scraper blade. IF we get a big snow and you see an Oshkosh out....its pretty serious snow.

Try using a Quad Ring (square o-ring) IH # 368548R1. These will fix the leak.

Leave the patched/welded frame rails and add a Hinsdale tag to it.....😃

The offset Elwood on the 5X88 series was the first gen axle that Elwood offered. The second gen Elwood axle for the 5X88 was a center line drive like the IH All Wheel Drive (aka Dana) was. Straight shaft from trans to front axle. The 3X88 always used the side drive line like that on the 06-86 series. Elwood became factory installed on IH's in 1978? when Coleman was dropped. You can convert an Elwood fwa setup to a 2wd... This 5488 (formerly owned by Brooks McCormick...yes..THAT McCormick of the IH Company) WAS an early Elwood offset drive tractor. It had its fwa axle removed long before it was sold on Brooks auction... The side drive box stayed on the tractor until a few years ago when it was finally removed.

IH called this color Instrument Panel Grey. A close match to it is PPG # 31641.

I'll share this story...a customer who farms FLAT sandy loam ground was plowing with their (bought used to them) 1256 and IH plow. Going thru the field, the tractor spun a wheel and stopped moving. No grinding or other noises, just no movement. IH dealer picked it up and took it to shop to tear apart. They nearly tipped over thier forklift taking the rear tires off. Turns out the tractor came from S. IL and had the rear tires filled with powdered LEAD. It was HEAVY!! (they didnt have a scale, but I bet it weighed nearly 20K lbs!!) It sheared off every ring gear bolt on the ring/pinion like it was lazer cut. The lead was removed from the tires before it was returned to customer at expense of taking wheels BACK to IL to have lead removed.

Use HyTran....it's sold in the UK at CIH dealers. Hydraulic 46 oil is very different, missing many additives that Hy Tran has.

We offer a 227 point combine inspection. The tech goes over thier findings with you when done to show you what is wrong/worn out. Machine is blown off with high HP air compressor. Cost is $550. Wash/wax and offseason storage is offered too, along with discounted parts on approved repairs. I bet that 98%+ of the machines we process every year in this program we DO NOT see broke down during harvest.(unless fire, accident or driver error) We are VERY thorough in our findings, listing what needs to be done NOW and what can wait til later. We have a 1 years parts AND labor warranty on the machines we process.

It's an ok custom repainted tractor. IH never made black "red power" circle decals, nor did "red power" tractors have white side panels. If you like it or not it's unique, just not IH factory original paint.

Be sure the threaded stud that the oil filter screws onto is tight in the block. I've seen many of these where that is loose and the filter unscrews itself via vibration.
