Got the manure spreader out today to fix some things. The 560 is always the most versatile one to use.

I do have a good pressure washer with hot water and ceramic tips. That might be the best option at this point. Am I thinking correct the old paint underneath is pretty durable yet compared to the top coat?

Is there much I can do at this point? Would a rubbing compound do much in this situation? It looks as though whoever did it only did the tin work, not the rest of the tractor

Forgive my ignorance, is this clear coat that is flaking? Or just a crappy paint job that is peeling? The dark red underneath a faded purple/red. Will this buff out to the nice red underneath? Thanks

That's very true, with some extra hands to help it will make it more enjoyable , plus they will be learning lots of things not being taught in school......

Would you do it again or pass? My first 12 i bought in 2006 for 6500, ran really well, someone tore rearend apart then put it back together w/o fixing it. New housing and rearend later, clutch and TA, im in pretty deep with old paint yet. My oldest is 12 years old, hoping to get him interested in the old tractors. This might be a good project, however money will be deciding factor.

Price is definitely in the budget....

Agreed, its 5 hours away, debating whether to attempt to trailer it back home so I can mess with it in shop. Don't think its ran in 15 years or more.

Here are some photos of the tractor I mentioned a while back. MIL will give me the 1256, but its in real rough shape. Is tin work pretty easy to get hands on? Probably look to a narrow front since I've got a wide 1256 already. Thoughts?

My 12 year old said he wanted to seed cover crop this year. Gonna start him off with the 10 ft seeder and 14, see how he likes it!

My nephew wanted to drive the 1256 to school for FFA week today. My wife caught a good photo with my kids waving. Thought I would share.

I will probably have to get somebody to cut out and replace. Ill.just have to repair it later down the road when it's time repaint again. Thanks
