forwhldrv Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 Loaded up the 450 to head up to Seth’s Fire department Benefit pull. We made our way there last fall and had a great time nice laid back time and it was fun watching the kids pulling and getting hooked into it. There was a boy that was there last year recognized me this past August at another tractor show on the eastern side of VT. And he asked me if I was coming to the pull this year we said yes we had a good time so here’s the 450 freighted up to drag over the mountains to western Vermont next Saturday 7 Quote

Loader or backhoe for setting blocks on and a bigger pull back tractor. It's really quick to build what it takes to stone boat compared to a transfer sled 1 Quote
vtfireman85 Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 OoOoOo free publicity! Very excited, we are moving the date up this year for the weather I hope people can make it, we tried to not conflict with other events. 830 start, one of the guys is wanting 3 “fun” classes. Idk, but he’s offering to buy prizes. Stay tuned, either way it promises to be a good time. 3 Quote

As Joe Friday said “just the facts “ I found out. First time for me I pulled less than a foot ,what ? Yep One of the pulls we go to there a few young boys on green tractors they pull good we pull the boat 80-100 feet. And if good watching them learn to operate the tractor and listen and feel what it’s doing to keep it moving down the track. Usually if you spin out in the first 5 feet they will give you a chance to rehook the kids generally get 2 times to try then. If they can’t pull it don’t the track they are out and the boat is pulled back to the start someone takes over the tire holes and next tractor is up having to negotiate the soft spot made by the previous tractor. My 14 year old daughter came home with the prize for the 7500 pound class last month on the 350 she was happy. Last fall at Seth’s pull I was second to last pulling with this tractor against an Oliver 1950 I think it was that was heavy. I changed some weight around this time so we will see how it does next Saturday. 1 Quote
forwhldrv Posted September 21, 2025 Author Posted September 21, 2025 Tractors pulled good today we used up all the blocks. Got to talk to a few red power forum members that made it to VT today I’m horrible with names I’m sure Seth can chime in with them. I did end up the day limping the 450 on the trailer after loosing a inner axle bearing and having the bull gear decide it didn’t want it near it anymore so it pushed it and the oil out of the bottom of the case. So now I search for a back half of a 450 or will a late 560 with the updates fit on it from the TA housing back?? the last video of the 450 is where it let go I heard and felt something under my foot about 3/4 the way down the track. Tractor Dan pulling his sweet sounding 560 we broke today now to find the parts over the winter to put it back together I think I found the weak spot in the 450 6 Quote
