Well someone has to show them green ones how it’s done.

I confess I have a John Deere 70 and will probably be plowing with that, Dad will probably be running the H

I learned to plow on a JD 60, and my sister is going to learn on the same one

The area tractor show this year had MM as the featured brand.  I like the ZB and UB tractors.

Nice dirt.

I worked with a guy years ago, he would plow in L4 TA  instead of L3 Direct. He would go in Direct on the headlands and then into TA when back in the furrow, I  asked what happens when in a tough spot? He said just ‘let it lug’. Of course he was a Allis Chalmers guy who didn’t care for Internationals.

One of my plowing buddies pulls in T/A gear a lot of the time. On his 460 he likes third T/A, 856 H-1 T/A.

Depending on the style of moldboard, too high of ground speed results in poor plow performance. I had the vast majority of my time with an IH 720 auto-reset. L3 Direct was just about perfect mph, when a bottom tripped the reset will come right back down on the other side of the rock(boulder), almost scraping the soil off both sides of the rock. Any faster there is an unplowed trench that requires disking the field again. If extra finishing is required from poor plowing, you haven’t saved any time.

856(non turbo) 18.4x38, 5x16 plowing sod, or 5x18 plowing corn stalks.

Never had that problem. Anytime the plow encountered anything of that magnitude. I had to backup and rehitch the plow and hope you didn't have to pull it out backwards.

Well my plow day was a flop. It is so dry and so hard that the plows would not go in more than 6in

The H pooped out after a couple rounds, battery died

Would post pictures but you know......
