International 3 point Grader Blades

Been spending dangerous time on auctions sites as I am away from home for work. I came across some IH 3 point grader blades. There seems to be a model 20, 30, 40, and 50. Model 40 is the one I am looking at. Looks to have Cat 1 and 2 three point provisions, and a hydraulic angle cylinder. 

My questions are, were these an IH built unit or a rebranded attachment? Looks like they were carried on through the merger so what happened to the designs? Sold off to companies like Atsway or Rowse and still produced like the grinders and sickle bars? Or just discontinued?

I think the series you mentioned are all rebranded. I have a model 50 that was manufactured by Arps that were built in New Holstein Wi. I’m not sure if they all were made by Arps.

I think the grinder mixers were always an arts way rebranded as an ih. I dont know about the blades. I think the 2 point era blades were made by ih? But I don't know that.

dont know who made them but there a good med. duty blade. check the bottom of front pivot pin. every one that i know of the weld is cracked

I think Red666 is correct about them being made by Arps. The Arps blades look just like the IH 40 and 50 blades. The 20 and 30 models look quite a bit different so not so sure about those. 

Did some searching on Arps, but looks like they don't exist anymore. Wonder if anyone bought them and continued the design. 

If I get it I'll probably disassemble, blast, repair, and paint it like original so a good opportunity to fix any cracks.

I’ve seen Ford branded blades that look like the IH 40. I guess Arps made for multiple companies.

They still exist and are part of Amerequip now head quartered in Keil Wi. I don’t think they use the Arps name anymore.

I have a JD heavy 3pt blade.  Cat III.  Very heavy duty.  It was made by somebody else because I have seen ones that were exactly like it except for the pins in the 3pt.

Doesn't say in the manual but I saw it years ago and thought I should have instructions if I ever get one 😊

So Arps made half-tracks for IH according to this resource but no rear mount blades.

Looks like Verlyn Foster at the controls of the 686 at Hickory Hill for the photoshoot. 

Interesting rear wheel setup or am I hallucinating.?

That gauge wheel would be very nice.  It would help keep the blade running flat instead of undulating with the tractor.

In the late 70’s and early 80’s the blades were made by Arps. The rear wheel setup would be a pain when back bladeing.

It looks like a couple pins and cotter keys and it will come right off.
