Both of my grandpa's have tractors I've driven lots that are right up your alley: One has an IH 574 diesel with 8spd, no TA, 2 remotes, hydro-static steering, IPTO, 2 remotes and 3pt. Other grandpa has MF 175 gas W/ 8speed, no MP, live PTO, 3pt, 1 remote, power steering, and an MF 180 diesel 6 spd w/ MP, 3pt, live PTO, 1 remote, hydrostatic steering. All the tractors are very nice handling tractors, but each has pros and cons, I can go into detail if you want. I know you said you're not really a Massey guy but I really like the MF tractors I have driven, and these would be about your size and price range. Interesting thread, happened to stumble on it today! In case you're still curious of what to use to measure the sleeves, you would probably have to use something like this. https://www.harborfreight.com/6-piece-telescoping-gauge-set-5649.html The spring-loaded ends expand in the bore; you lock the measurement, remove the tool, and then measure the ends with a caliper or micrometer to get your final reading. I'm going to take a guess and say it is a 2 bottom #10 plow built from 1935-1955, but I could be wrong also. I understand that the cranks are for lower clearance applications like orchards, where the levers would catch branches. 😄 Your B should pull that pretty easily. Anybody else want to chime in?

Just put a small pipe wrench on it with a small cheater pipe then, unless you can't get it in there.

Where do you work?

Doesn't matter, could be IH, Navistar, or International. Shoot, I don't really even care what brand or year it is, just love to see oldies still doing work. Pictures would be an added bonus!

I would too, is there anything to hold the truck down or is it just sheer weight of the truck?

Does the tractor have the original generator or an aftermarket alternator? If you want the CORRECT one, snag parts off a 350 diesel at a salvage yard and have the tach rebuilt, or the tach might just work. Otherwise, just put a blocking plate in and forget about it. A lot cheaper too. Do you have any pictures of the tractor?

You could try putting the thermostats in a pot of water and see what temp they open with a meat thermometer. Is the fan clutch kicking on and off or running all of the time?
