It was sold brand new by A.A. Anderson, of Harvard, IL. (dealer sticker on it). This would have been when the shop was "downtown" on 300 N. Johnson St??? Andy Anderson was REAL close with some well placed guys at IH and had access to lots of IH stuff others dealers didn't. He had a public showing of the new 460-560 tractors in June of 1958 and IH dealers saw them in August/September of 1958. Andy also got LOTS of low serial number stuff from IH and Hinsdale. I can personally trace several "501" tractors that came from there. The first IH 1468 V-8 made (#7101) is coming up on auction this Fall and it has an A. A. Anderson decal on it. It stayed local to the area its whole life so far. A.A. Anderson is no longer around...it was bought by the dealer I work for, Johnson Tractor a few years ago. There is a NO OLD IH stuff there. Alot of it went away when Andersons moved to a new location in the 1980's? that was eventually bought by Motorola (to make cell phones...but it never took off) and they were GIVEN a new place to move to that is their current location. Just like any OLD IH dealer, Anderson has some VERY TALL (and TRUE!!) tales to be told about it.

A photo of the tractor and the serial tag would be most helpful. Also any history you may have on the tractor (when/where bought) past owners, ect...

Running John Deere Header on Case combine?
Bermuda_Ken replied to WOTharvesting's topic in Technical IH Talk
Another 1010 or 1020 head would work great. Both are reasonably priced. If you want to upgrade to a better feeding system get a draper head.- 10 replies

Since the show is moved every year and run by different groups...enforcing a no leave early policy is kinda tough... I attend a well know National show and they have a "no leave early policy" The show is Fri-Sat-Sunday ending at 2pm. If you pack/leave early you wont get a contract for the next year. It states so in your exhibitor contract. Pretty simple. I've been THE person for the Roundup (#2) once long ago and its hard to please everyone. Some left early due to travel time to get back home, I had some others (locals) show up the last day of the show with good IH stuff that some of the "bailers" later commented they never saw....well DUH!! ...because you left early!! Had a couple others looking for a certain vendor(s) that had left early too...They weren't happy. Chalk it up for a loss to the missing vendors. If the roundup was only a 1 day show...would exhibitors/vendors leave at noon??? Maybe a way to retain vendors/exhibitors might be to have a drawing at the END of the show for something EVERYONE there could use. A prepaid fuel card. You gotta be present to win, so if you leave early you loose. I know with the expense of hauling, travelling ect. to shows if my fuel bill was FREE....THAT sure would help and I'd definitely go back!!

Have a friend running an IH truck dealership in NY state. He had a truck in recently for a work. It was 2? years old but not in warranty (that seemed odd to him). Anyways.... it ran from NY to CAL every week. It was team driven. 4 days out and back per trip. Then another team got in the truck and did the same run. SO....these guys worked one week on, 1 week off and made good $$$. There are LOTS of good paying jobs out there. People have become lazy and don't want to work now.

Online IH Tractor Wiring Diagrams...they are back!
Bermuda_Ken replied to Bermuda_Ken's topic in Technical IH Talk
the dealership i was at dropped the CIH brand and shortly thereafter closed the IH parts site I had made there.(I left there at that time) Luckily..... I had back copied everything so all I needed was time and to get good clean copies of the diagrams to put back up. in the future...I'm looking into making pdf flip Service books of IH (tractor and AF Combine) and some CIH (Magnum-Maxxum-Steiger- AF Combine) to offer too! -
I've been busy recreating/saving the IH Tractor wiring diagrams that USED to be on the net. After getting clean. legible diagram copies from friends at IH Hinsdale, they are just starting to be listed online. Here's the link to first few posted.... IH Tractor Wiring Diagrams
