Is it worth the extra money for a spring reset over the toggle trip?  I haven’t had much issue in the past with the 311 fast hitch plow tripping the bottoms.

What are you plowing in?

If rocky, I wouldn't go without spring reset. Which in my part of Michigan. The land of a trillion rocks it is a necessity.

If you are blessed without rocks. You will be fine without.

I haven't seen a spring reset plow around here unless it was imported. We are lucky not to have rocks.

I plowed with both. Hands down in Pennsylvania automatic plows are the best. I backed up a trillion times before and it isn't fun.I am amazed at the flat, out west or loam soils that there isn't a rock in sight.

Auto reset for sure. Doubt there was ever a plow sold here without auto reset once it became available.

Sometimes my 720's trip so often it sounds like a machine gun back there, I couldn't imagine backing up that many times.

Not too long after we got our JD 2800 SAR plow I was out plowing northeast of the barn.  The neighbor stopped by and was wondering who the crazy person was playing with the shotgun.

I got a IH 720 plow first year they were released 5 18 on a 1066 toggle. my dad got a 6 18  couple of years later. we don't have a lot of rocks  but if you do go auto reset.  my neighbor a JD guy went straight to a IH dealer  and bought a 720 5 16 plow. There were hundreds of IH 720 plows pushing  JD tractors in thr corn belt.

Now with that response I have to buy one.  Would not want to be accused of being inhospitable by not having one should you ever stop by.
