Well I made the trip today. Spent about 3.5 hours walking around. Saw maybe a third of the show.  Walked past sellers big bid so I snapped a pic. They were setup in front of it talking to everyone but I didn’t take time to sit online and say hi. Chris barber was there as well.  Only pic I took all day. Show was ok bit if I didn’t have free tickets I’m not sure I’d have gone.

I would have been curious if they got the dropbox chain fixed.  Must have if it moves

Yes I’m not sure. I figured they just put an old chain back in as it sounded like they were going another direction but I could be wrong.

I don’t watch their videos much because I can just go ask them if I wanted to.  From what I understand they are a hard to get obsolete part and I bet they wouldn’t mind having the chain off mine since it’s only had 360 hp in front of it its whole life.

Things are looking pretty decent here. Not as much got drowned out as I expected after the excessive rain we’ve had. Fungicide sprayed by plane.IMG_6401.thumb.jpeg.8b5a1011e71038d32428059e39025b5c.jpegIMG_6402.thumb.jpeg.43e99405ef981cec42d3970cad6b9f6a.jpegIMG_6403.thumb.jpeg.aa92e5c28f932953f10dfa3e2d5a1061.jpegIMG_6404.thumb.jpeg.00c85c405df93a4ef3cb949fc1a84741.jpegIMG_6405.thumb.jpeg.ad90dc34608b94d258afb3b3886a2627.jpeg

We ended up not bad at all after the last thunderstorm. It came heavy with lots of wind so there’s a lot of guys in the area that have cereal crops that 50% or more of the field is flat on the ground. Some of them have started to come back a bit in the last couple days.IMG_6419.thumb.jpeg.3dcf6e2289542be3e58e46960ee95910.jpeg

Got the sxs’s on the trailer for the weekend. After that it’s back to work. Jobs stacked up at my welding shop, and I better start going through things for harvest. Pretty sure there isn’t anything major to do, but sometimes something shows up when you do a detailed inspection

Looking good so far.

Hoping to catch up with you Saturday morning and go for a ride if that works.  Cell coverage at wapiti is spotty.

Well I managed to crash @midnightman party today lol.  Met up with him and his crew this morning and did a loop around the bush.  Thanks again for letting me come along. Was a good excuse to get away from here for a bit. The mosquitoes were bad bit the company was good. Thought I’d toss a few pics up from the ride anyways.

Had the drone out tonight again for a bit. Canola is starting to get less and less yellow everyday now. Won’t be long and the last petals will drop. Doesn’t seem to be much loss from heat blast. Saw a few aborted ones ontop but they weren’t real common looking across the field at least.  Had picked a few of the wild oats in my oat field. Just the odd one along the edge of the field so far. Nothing showing up out in the field at all. Wheat should be starting to fill here now pretty quick hopefully.  Thunderstorm coming in from the west tonight again so hopefully no damage or heavy winds. It’s starting to rumble pretty good now as I type.  I hurried up tonight and shuffled a bit of wheat around into a couple empty bins just incase. Don’t want to loose any if I can help it.

Thanks @poor farmer/logger for spending the day with us and giving us the guided tour.  We all enjoyed our few days in your stomping grounds and put on about 300 km before we had to go home.  Wife says we’ll have to come back as there’s still lots of trails we haven’t seen yet.  We did leave you all of your mosquitoes though as we figured we already have enough of our own.  Crops look pretty decent all the way between you and us. Lots of Canola acres it seems.IMG_6424.thumb.jpeg.be511dab04160de3dd599c856f389919.jpegIMG_0554.thumb.jpeg.6471762f831e0335ec099c94131b973f.jpegIMG_0561.thumb.jpeg.63bc6ed370edeb6f1621c2f16656f9e5.jpegIMG_6430.thumb.jpeg.94b09ffc786f6fbd9b9069b1e535d153.jpegIMG_6431.thumb.jpeg.09961848126c9e49083896181b32db64.jpegIMG_6429.thumb.jpeg.d8d99dd6a6d8c0c15c36f328c55a5bc3.jpeg

Glad you guys had a safe trip. If you’re back in the area next year or in the future hit me up and we’ll try to cover somme more ground.  Did you stay on the north side the whole time? There’s some trails further west that have some nice lookout spots.  A day trip from our farmyard wouldn’t be the worst idea either if you were up for heading over this way.

Sunday we crossed the bridge a toured around on the south side. Monday we stayed on the north side and stayed east of the highway.

Well cropA are progressing. Can’t upload any pics yet it looks like unfortunately. Been out scouting a wee bit for army worms. So far nothing to alarming hopefully it stays that way. Not out of the danger zone yet. Still a couple weeks to go for them to show up.  Wheat is starting to turn now and getting a bit of a golden color to it. Canola is quite losged this year. Hopefully that’s a sign of bigger bushels maybe. A nice rain right now sure wouldn’t hurt bi was pulling up a few plants tonight and it’s getting pretty dry ontop now.  Been hauling out barley they last couple weeks. Finally have all the old stuff off the farm. Some of it’s been here for 7-8 years now I think.  Little bit of canola booked to haul next week and I should be nearing the end of hauling. Have to go through my wheat bins and see what I actually have left. Maybe take a load or two of wheat in as well.  Got a couple of bins leveled out finally as well. Had to get a load of gravel brought in.

Took last Saturday off and went for a drive. Just started heading north and kept going north lol. Ended up in Flin flon. From there decided to take a different way home and came back around by the pas just to see something different. Made for a nice little loop/day trip anyway.

Working away on the transmission yet in the combine. Got it home late last week. Started trying to put it in today but my little transmission jack isn’t going to cut it. Was experimenting with the old transmission just incase something happened. Going to have to make an adapter for my floor jack I think. It’s a good heavy one so hopefully it’ll withstand the side twisting if there is any.

Well had to spend some more money today. Found enough armyworms in the canola last night to be concerned so I went in this morning and dropped off chem for the plane to do my canola. He almost beat me back home with the plane lol.  Sure been an expensive summer this year.

Well of course no pictures but the corn and beans here are looking great. I'm sure the one field of beans will be the best it's ever raised, for me anyway. Corn looking really good too even with reduced fertilizer. The pessimist in me knows not to go to the bank yet, still plenty of time for a 'wind-event' to ruin things.

been busy last while here more bins and putting bins on new floors,  got peas sprayed earlier in week was alittle behind on that due to a rain shower with 8 tenth which was appreciated now busy swathing some canola looks bit better than i expected but combine will tell the story how good it really is,  suppose to be hot and windy today and tomorrow so not sure what will get done was planning to start combing on Monday but see there's showers that day now so who knows

Well there sure isn’t much to update here at all. Still sitting at zero acres harvested. Was out spraying some wheat yesterday. Man is it ever wet out there.  Close to the worst I’ve seen. I’m not looking forward to combining.  I’m short staffed this year too so if I get stuck I’m in trouble. Mom ended up in the hospital last week thanks to a bowel blockage. She had surgery on Friday and is recovering well now though. Still in the hospital but hopefully home soon before to long.   Turned out to be a minor surgery thankfully.

Hope your mom is feeling better and healing up ok. It sucks to get older and have issues.

She’s doing pretty good. We were lucky that it was just some muscle or tissue that had wrapped around the small bowel somehow and restricted it. Just a natural thing that happens the dr said. He was able to cut it and relive the pressure. Also fixed a minor hernia while he was in there that no one knew about. Kind of a 2 for 1 deal lol.  6 weeks before she can lift anything though so that will be hard for her as she’s very active.
