Nebraska1206 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Over the past couple of years, during the summer, my Dad had commented how he wished he had another tractor to compete in our 8700 & 9700 lb N/A classes. So brother and I started the hunt, where we found this 856. We were satisfied with what we found, so we brought it home. Dad started right away by removing the cab and Fast hitch, from there, my brother took over doing all the mechanicals, fabricated hitch and wheelie bars, and was able to resurrect the old, original paint. Here's some pictures. 5 Quote
Nebraska1206 Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 Here's a video of its maiden voyage down the track, 9700 lb class. My brother is running it, this was the winning hook in the class. Sorry that YouTube deems this video as age-restricted, because its completely safe for anyone to view. 1 Quote
nepoweshiekfarmalls Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Wow, what a nice pull! That 407 just sings. What did you do to the engine? Any upgrades or is it mostly the way it came off the farm? Quote

Engine is as stock as the day we got it, just had to check that the RPM's weren't going to be over 2800. 856 is normally 2400, previous owner must've had it opened up a little, it would already scream Quote

Plus, this tractor came off the farm. Engine likely not recently overhauled. Quote

According to the previous owner, they did have it overhauled before, can't remember exactly how many hours were on it since it was overhauled, he had it in his service records for his tractors. 2800 hours on the overhaul comes to mind. Not sure myself what kind of overhaul was performed, but it runs very well. Not sure what the reason was for the overhaul either. Quote
806Jordy Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Nice pull, I say Brother did a good job of driving too! Quote
Nebraska1206 Posted June 22, 2021 Author Posted June 22, 2021 I wish I could figure out how to appeal to YouTube about the restriction they imposed, but their links they give me do nothing but give me the run-around & frustration. Pretty sure that's their goal, then they don't have to remove it. I know I can't figure it out, so its going to have to stick. Quote
Rawleigh99 Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 She just wouldn't give up would she! Nice pull. Quote
tombusenitz Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Do you know where that 856 came from originally? I am looking for our old 856 that had a fast hitch probaly. I am from near wichita. Quote
ComancheStarFarms Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Great tractor & great pull! You found a jewel. What magic did you use on the paint? And what tractor was the donor for the tricycle front end? Thanks for posting! - Jonathan Quote
