The "Great-Grandpa’s Big Red Book" Thread Made Me Wonder
Red Flyer replied to Mark (EC,IN)'s topic in General Chat
My grandpa owned an IH dealership in Watertown MN. I have seen pictures (but do not remember) of me sitting on a brand new 560 and of me sitting on my 560 peddle tractor. I do remember playing on the new 06 and 56 series tractors at his dealership. I guess that is why I favor my 06 and 56 series tractors. Don't seem to recall the 66 series as much, think that may be about the time we moved to Montana. -
The one I saw here was all black as well.

Thanks good call. New OEM clutch is on the way $203.00.

My 2388 is an early model 1999 if I remember correctly with no digital display. It's looking more like the clutch now, not a big deal I have replaced them before. Can some one explain the cost difference between Abilene Machine and Case IH. One is $159.00 and the other $371.25 but the Case IH shows more parts that come with it. Are they the same clutch or is one better than the other. Also Torgerson's shows one in stock at Missoula.

Looks like the air conditioner can't work. Went to investigate the a/c clutch and found white chalky residue on the a/c lines below the pump. My guess is the hose failed and leaked out all the refrigerant . Any other ideas ? APF

656 Glow Plug System Assistance PLEASE
Red Flyer replied to JustBoughta656's topic in Technical IH Talk
Rewire the glow plugs with a relay directly off the battery. Get a 12 volt relay and go from the battery to the relay to the glow plugs. Wire your glow plug push button to operate the relay. I did this on my 656 2 years ago, big difference, starts like a different tractor. -
Replace the cam position sensor. Behind the bottom of the radiator.

Try IH Parts America they have lots of parts.
