Twolines Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 The wind kicked up again and blew a lot of smoke away...but still seeing flecks of ash. I reckon the wind is good for blowing the smoke away but also bad for fanning the fire. Quote

rrr4quality Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 I was talking with my brother last night, about 6:00 your time, and he said he could hear thunder all around him. It started pouring rain before we got off the phone. He’s in North Pole. Quote

Lots of thunder and lightning, and one big strike very close. It rattled the house, lights flickered, and my FIL on the other side of the hill lost his Internet. Later reports of 1” hail on the west side of town were reported. We got 0.21” of rain on my gauge, I think others like @Twolines go more, the airport only reported .004” for a grand total this month of 0.57”. Now the weather shows a cooling off with more showers, much better Quote
Twolines Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 Ya i think wife said we got 3" of rain?....it was a lot either way. We have some sink hole issues around our porch...cuz u know grade every driveway straight to the porch..lol i dug a french drain around the porch that drains to a basin to be pumped out...the drain worked like a charm but couldnt pump the basin with no power. I will be prepared tonight tho, they say we'll get it again around 5. We did get power back around 4am. No complaints here really tho, we need the rain. It does this every year since weve been here..just usually waits til august. RRR we have a friend in north pole.. he said it was pretty bad there too. Quote
